This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is your favorite, SF weapon that appears in an RPG?
High Valor REVISED: A fantasy Dark Age RPG. Available NOW!
Hearts & Souls 2E Coming in 2019

Ronin

Laser weapons in Star Frontiers. They have adjustable damage. For every SEU of power you use. You do 1d10 damage. Clips have 20 SEU. Laser pistols can use 1-10 SEU per shot, laser rifles can use 1-20 SEU per shot.

Skyrock

UV tasers. Legal, clean violence, but with the coolness of a beam weapon.

When I write "TDE", I mean "The Dark Eye". Wanna know more? Way more?

dar

Gyrojets. Cool bullet sized rockets, that never really seem to work out in real life.

AntiGrav flechets. Little metal darts accelerated to a significant fraction of the speed of light.

Zachary The First

Railguns.

Anything incorporating plasma.

Danger

Gyrojet weaponry, but more specifically (as I recall it), the GURPS version where you can have a 2 or 3 mag layout feeding into one pistol.

Nothing feeds a sadistic soul more than having firing a tangler, HE, HE (or HEDP) shot group into a few poor, misguided miscreants.

Follow up fave would be gauss guns of any stripe.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

beeber

star frontiers wins, for gyrojets, variable lasers, and electrostunners

PGMPs & FGMPs and gauss weapons from traveller get the nod too

homebrew-wise, that gun from "logan's run" with the different ammo types.  i know i made SF and MT versions of it before i saw something similar in gurps ultratech

When you have to absolutely, positively, have to blow someone to ratshit in the middle of a firefight in Traveller.

(Although not out yet for Traveller, I've seen rules for an ultra-tech weapon that would shoot quantum black holes timed to decay into an energetic burst of gamma rays and x-rays upon entering the target. Sort of the logical evolution of the Meson Gun. I can't wait for it!)
"Meh."

eskatonic

The "Projectile Defecator" used by the Symbiotes in Fading Suns.

Disgusting.

Effective.

Hilarious.

Lightsaber, without a doubt.  Preferably WEG-style.  I have simple tastes.
