This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Anything that can fit in a spinal mount.
Paranoia's tac-nuke launcher.

reminds me of a paranoia game from years ago.  somehow we got a hold of a pocket nuke.  when the inevitable horde of blue vulture troops showed up, i set it off.  the only game where no one complained about offing all fellow characters!  it was the end of the mission, anyhoo.  gawd i miss that game!

Graviton Guns - I think they are sometimes called Mass Weapons, they fire (or create at a distance) a tiny singularity that rapidly collapses in on itself, but does huge damage to things within it's brief but massive gravity well.

Spike

Bolt guns and Chain Swords.

Not because chainswords really should be all that, but just because deep down inside I am 12.

And anything CALLLED a bolt gun can't be all bad. Though the 40k boltgun (gyrojet) is the bestest.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

As mentioned, lightsabres, chainswords, and gyrojets are cool.
I'm fond of the 40K plasma weapons as well.  They're shiny and red and spew ionized death, what's not to love?
Protonic Spearlaunch, from Encounter Critical, for the sheer WTF? value.
Cyberpunk had two weapons I liked, one was a superheavy revolver in, IIRC, .666 calibre.  The other was a shotgun pistol capable of full auto.

Oh, that reminds me, didn't Shadowrun 2E have some sort of repeating rocket launcher.  A Panther or Tiger or something to that effect?

From the pages of Traveller, I always appreciated:
  • the Assault Rocket Launcher (essentially a rifle that fires a small, self-propelled, usually high-explosive round)
  • the gauss rifle and the gauss pistol, both of which bore a distinct resemblance to the "Needler" guns from 1st ed. Gamma World (which I also enjoyed)
From the pages of Twilight: 2000, there was the CAWS, or Close Assault Weapon System, essentially an automatic shotgun with a bullpup design that could fire a variety of different, carnage-producing rounds.

It's all about the lightsaber.  Be man-sized for all your swashbuckling Jedi action, or giant-sized for making mechs into wrecks with the flick of your wrist, this one weapon gets the job done.

Do you mean "assault cannons", with the Panther as one of the two models?
(However, it's never cleared what they look like and how they work, except that they are extremely big, extremely heavy and have more impact than a rocket launcher, though without a blast area. Something like a Barret with bigger bullets.)

I keep a file entitled "Disgusting Evil Shit" handy for when I feel like being a truly Sadistic GM. That could just add to it.

Oh, well then, Larry Niven does the lightsabre one better with the "flashlight" laser.  It's functionally a lightsabre, but with no artificially imposed terminus point for the beam.  It just comes out of the handle and keeps going.

I think Niven was trying to make some sort of commentary on the practical complications of the lightsabre.

the spike/slug/omni weapons from legionnaire

neat concept (never tried it in a session though).  guns would use a polymer block for ammo, and shave off rounds based on the type.  a "spike" gun would shave off many smaller particles, like some sort of auto-needler.  the "slug" gun would saw off a huge chunk for AP or sheer damage.  "omni" guns could switch between the two.

Blackleaf

Reflex Multi-Warhead Missile.  Partly because it's a really long name, but mostly because I think the idea of a smart missile that shoots other missiles is fun.

David Johansen

Laser pistols with bulbous bodies, fins on the barrel, and long retractable cables attatching them to the reactor in the back pack.

Sure, it's unreal.  I don't let that get in the way of my fun.
