First off, I am friends with Cynthia Miller and she is doing the layout for Sixcess Core. I can always go to her with these questions (and I have) -- but I'm interested in knowing any "other" experiences that you've had with the system and how well it plays in your groups.

Her Gallery of Evil looks really good.

There's about a day left and I'm very curious to see what its like. However, I'm not really a "supers" player and so I'm waffling on what I could do with it.

I'd love to see some discussion about it so I can get some third-party input.

Hmm. Looks like it funded.  I've never personally been much of a fan of "villains" books.

I took a look at it, not my cup of tea.  Like MHR, it's more about roleplaying a comic book writer then a comic book hero.  The GM is even called Editor.  The metagame is structured around scenes during which characters have a limited resources of "come up with your own name" powers to use.

Like a lot of games that use narrative structures or metagame, it looks like it would be fun to play at a con or when you're not going to play your RPG campaign on Game Night.

I will say, it does look to be better then MHR at actually writing a comic book story.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

Quote from: that muppet vince baker on RPGsIf you care about character arcs or any, any, any lit 101 stuff, I\'d choose a different game.

Hmm, based on this I suspect that if given the choice I'd probably stick with ICONS.

Anyone care to offer a rebuttal?

Blackhand

Mutants & Masterminds is my preferred Supers game.  Good to see there's a "Powered by M&M" version.

In my experience, these sorts of books serve as example patterns for GM's building their own worlds.  Very seldom does someone run a villain from one of these books straight out of the manual, instead it becomes a template for their own concoctions.

Sure, except that usually time-tested villains from DC or Marvel tend to be better choices.
The problem with villain books is that there isn't exactly a barren wasteland devoid of potential inspirational material out there when it comes to supers games.
