SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is there a list of what the Judges get? (That box of goodies.) just curious as to what they're looking at.

Not yet, but Liz is going to be taking over the enniesjudge.blogspot which usually tracks everything entered.  Just off the top of my head, we got stacks of stuff from:
White Wolf, Goodman Games, Green Ronin, Palladium, Pelgrane Press, EOS Press, Dragon Storm, Expeditious Retreat Press, Catalyst, Conflict Chips, the Elevation Indicator, Campaign Coins, LukeSki CD, Fellowship of the Dice DVD, Dead Gentlemen DVD, Margaret Weis productions, Reaper, Exile Game Studio, Fractal Mapper, GM Syndicate, Bendy Dungeon Walls and MUCH more.

(BTW, I only got home about 8 hours ago, so haven't really unpacked yet to get the full scope of what was already submitted, sorry!)

No worries, thanks for the update!

I'm also going to be blogging again, sort of a mix of my old RPG Blog and discussion about what's going on as an ENnies judge.  Just getting it underway, but here's the link:

And man, Denise is not kidding.  There's already two boxfulls in my house, with more coming, I imagine.  Very cool, but a little daunting.

There's a lot of stuff to read, but the good news is, you have plenty of time to do it!  It used to be that all the submissions would come in March, leaving only two months to read them all.  Oh yeah, and I have some stuff from Green Ronin and Goodman Games and Conflict Chips that came in after everybody had left, so watch your mail over the next few weeks!

I heartily encourage you to draft members of your gaming group to playtest, and remind you to take copious notes.  There are other suggestions in the forum and on the ENnies wiki from past judges.

That reminds me: please drop by EN World, Zach!  You now have access to the ENnies staff forum as well as the judges' forum, and deliberations have already begun!  My goal is to get some fora set up on ennieawards.com, but for now ENW is playing host to our discussions.

So, is there a link to how to submit my Squirrel books? I would like to submit Shaolin Squirrels and Squirrels Ahoy but need to know:
1. Where to send?
2. Any forms to fill out?
3. What category? (I think it would fall into either a supplement one or an adventure one, both really).
4. It requires Squirrel Attack! Should I include copies of that?

Beyond that, I hope to fill Zach's head to bursting with powerful Gung-fu techniques like Iron Chef and Funnel of 10000. ;)

Hi Bill,

I confess I haven't finalized the 2008 entry form- I only today got the mailing addresses for all of the panel.  As soon as it is up (I'm hoping for September 1st), you can download it and send off your products.

If it's a supplement or adventure, it would be a kindness to send a PDF on a CD along with your submission so that the judges can have a chance to get background on your system/world.  If you really wanted to, you could send the book, but I figure it's a little less stressful on the pocketbook to simply insert a CD into a shipment!

As for categories, be advised that the judges and board reserve the right to move products around as well as combine or split lines.  If you are absolutely dead set that a product not be thus moved or manipulated, then there will be a spot on the entry form to indicate so- but let me say, as a general rule, that'd be a bad idea.  Using the IRV/AV method of voting, there's no way to "split" your vote, so having products of your own competing against each other isn't an issue.  Also, if the judges move a product into another category, usually it's to the product's benefit.
