This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So to speak.

If you want to stock up on D&D and Satanism, here's your chance. A historic auction of perishable pamphlets. Your auctioneer: Mr. Issaries.

Y'know, one reason I had so little respect for TSR (They Sue Regularly) is that they never sued anyone outside of the game biz for slander or libel.
I mean, that walking greaseball rivera blamed D&D for a couple murders comitted for money and drugs. They didn';t sue him, they didn't sue chick for his slander, but oh boy, let someone in the game biz not put a copyright symbol behind TSR and here comes their legal department.

Fuck them if they're going to terrorize people in the game biz then act like pussies when someone outside it commits blatant slander.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

I won one of those pamphlets at the ENnies last year...

Remind me - has Rockstar Games ever sued anyone for claiming that Grand Theft Auto kills? Did Judas Priest sue anyone over the "backward messages" debacle?

No. Because free advertising is free advertising. Never underestimate the amount of money a certain kind of teenager is willing to spend on upsetting his or her parents.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Sometimes you can still find chick tracks in bathrooms of all places, there is usually a big funding/soul savin/evangelism push by the campus religious student unions at this time of year. I will keep an eye out on campus and see if they are handing out chick tracts this year.

I work at a university and any given week, I'll see anywhere between half to a full dozen of Chick tract's in my hallways (It's the Law seems to be a rather popular one).  Its not only Chick tracts though, there's a couple of business card-like ones I'll see too.

My personal favorite is:

QuoteI.Q. Test:

What does this read?

GODISNOWHERE

Then on the back is a five-point font of Biblical text and analysys with the answer being along the lines of "If you read it as 'God is nowhere' your're wrong, it's 'God is now here'".  Get it?  GET IT!?

I get a wry chuckle just before I throw it away...

Also because when someone accused of something takes legal action against something like that, it "proves" to the public that the harmful claim is true.  It just provides fuel for the fire.

Plus, the people who believe the shit are irrational anyway, so trying to prove they're wrong is pointless anyway.
