It's quite easy to see a difference. Non-woke left does not throw apoplectic fits when people playing their games do not follow their believes.

I'd like to see where Matt indicated this news of being socialist. I've been a "mild fan" since the Dune RPG and the Decipher Trek, which he worked on. I've read his novels. And I was an early subscriber to "running the game" (I think it was around the time he had under 1000 followers). He has tons of content, so I have not seen everything, so that is why I am asking.

Of note, I've met him in person, too, and he's an all around basic guy who loves gaming. I've never encountered a single political thing in conversation... the one thing that "bugs" me a bit is his "hair party" on screen, but it's part of his talking-head persona now, so whatever.

He also said it in at least 1 Q&A a few years back. He has also talked about using his position at MCDM to lift up non-white hetero normative or marginalized creators or something like that.

I'll be forever grateful for his early "running the game" videos. But between his far left (California leftie) views and his inability to keep all the promises he made for connecting Strongholds and Followers to Kingdoms and Warfare I'm done w him a d his company. He has cool ideas for dnd, but I've found DungeonCraft and Pundit more to my liking these days.

Eh...I enjoy the creative output of a lot of people with whose politics I disagree. I feel no compulsion to adopt their viewpoints. Colville's videos, as I mentioned earlier, are focused on the game, and have not pushed any political agenda.

Being a socialist is stupid; thinking that bureaucrats are the best people to manage the means of production is stupid. There is no incentive for bureaucrats to cut costs, until the inevitable collapse.

I doubt that Colville would sit placidly by if someone took his novels and game supplements and reprinted them to hand them out free of charge. I wonder if he thinks he will be one of those "in charge" under a socialist society, or if he will be part of the controlled. Something, something, useful idiots. Educated persons who support socialism don't tend to fare very well when the revolution actually happens.
