This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

DriveThruRPG Supporting BLM

Quote from: Publishers Newsletter
People in the United States are seeking justice this week, and the world is watching. At DriveThruRPG, we believe Black Lives Matter. Here is how we are trying to help:

We will set up one charity bundle including submissions from any publishers who wish to be involved. The bundle will be priced at a substantial discount, with all proceeds going directly to non-profit Black Lives Matter. This charity bundle will be activated as soon as possible following the submission deadline.
We will spotlight up to five (5) additional titles alongside the charity bundle. We will fill these spots with games, adventures, and supplements by Black creators. All DriveThruRPG proceeds from each of these titles will be donated to a charity or local bail fund of the publisher's choice.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, June 5, 2020

There are four stipulations:

Only one title per publisher.
PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE bundles or free/pay-what-you-want titles.
We may not be able to include every title, depending on how many people submit titles. Those submitted after June 5 will not be included.
Due to the way charity bundles are set up on our marketplace, purchases of the charity bundle do not count toward those individual titles' metal bestseller badges. Purchases of the spotlighted titles by Black creators WILL count toward bestseller badges.

Wasn't a leader of BLM arrested for human trafficking and prostitution charges?

I'm really uncomfortable with this.
"Meh."

Maybe not explicitly relevant since they're tossing money someone's way (well, not THEIR money) but...

BTW, if anyone wants to donate to a good non-political cause, I suggest DonorsChoose.org.

Teachers announce their class projects and you can fund what you personally support.

I doubt this is legal:

What's illegal about it. Those are their badges, based on their rules. They can pretty much just freely award whatever they want since those don't really mean anything.

I support Black Lives Matters. I don't care if one bad apple was found in the bunch, there's a pile of bad apples in the Police. Are all police bad now that there are bad police? Nope. Are all priests bad because there are bad priests? Nope.

I support Black Lives Matters because I'm angry at the treatment of black people in America. It's not complicated.

BLM is just a hate group that extorts corporations. Then add LGBTQ to the mix for this month.

Black lives matter is a vauge movement with no clear goals or structures or realistic demands. There may be only a few truly rotten apples, but the whole barrel is a poor harvest.

Being angry and acting off gut reaction will get you shit results that will be worse than 'Just doing nothing!'.

I concur and will be submitting Wilderlands of High Fantasy to the bundle.

That's not true. The cop in question wasn't arrested until people were rioting for practically five days. It took that much outrage for something to finally happen. Normally he would have been put on administrative leave for like a week at worst and nothing would've happened, just like the other times in the guy's apparent checkered history. What does it say that it took a riot to get the police to actually do something? If you or I did what the cop did we would've been arrested ASAP no questions asked.

It doesn't help that the cops randomly instigate the riots themselves when they go to actual peaceful protests and start doing totally uncalled for shit like shooting on the crowd.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

Black Lives Matter is a racist group.  Here's a lady who gets it.
