This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Question on your Sword and Caravan supplement comment, is it going to cover a specific period or topic, whereas the original book is a more high level overview? I'm really curious about the setting, but I was trying to see if I could get some players together for L&D/DA first.

I'm a bit confused about this question. Which Sword & Caravan supplement comments were you referring to?
I've made one supplement (Social Encounters), and working on another (the NPC book).

I meant your upcoming book, and to clarify, what I’m essentially asking is if S&C is a separate system from Lion & Dragon, and generally what the content is. I have the Social Encounters release, which I like, but it more rule mechanics rather than setting. Dark Albion covers things like geography, society, NPCs, etc. and I wasn’t sure if S&C was like that, or was intended to be a standalone system. Hope that clarifies!

Ok, so I'm still a little confused, here.

There's Lion & Dragon, which is the main RPG rulebook. Available for years now: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/226022/Lion--Dragon

Then there's Sword & Caravan, ALSO ALREADY OUT (it sounds like you don't know this) for several months now. It is not "my upcoming book", it is a book that is already here.
It is a setting book, like Dark Albion was a setting book. It describes the region of the middle east/levant/Holy Land and the Silk Road and all its cities, cultures, magic, monsters and political intrigues for the period from 1190-1220, including the 3rd and 5th Crusades. You can get it here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/395637/Sword--Caravan

Third, Social Encounters, which you say you already bought. Ostensibly done for Sword & Caravan but really a set of social mechanic rules that are usable for Lion & Dragon or any other OSR RPG, building a set of mechanics from the OSR "reaction roll rules" to let the DM determine particular outcomes for a variety of different kinds of social interactions (like Bribery, Impersonation, Debate, Intimidation, etc):  https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/405845/Social-Encounters

Finally, my upcoming book, still without a name (I'm calling it "the NPC book" for now), which will have biographies and stats for all the historical characters mentioned in Sword & Caravan, as well as a few other goodies (the assassin class, because people wouldn't shut up about that, plus Song Dynasty grenades and incendiary bombs).

It seems various people have responded to this thread without actually watching my video, and thus you all missed what I point out is the fundamental problem with why (EVEN if you took out all the wokeness) RoP is bad while HotD is good.

Not one of you who obviously didn't watch my video figured it out, as indeed none of the other videos and articles about it got it. It's about worldbuilding.
The irony is that the world was already built, Pundit.

Amazon just came in and shit things up, like a pack of activists who leave trash all over the place after they've left.

Did you watch my video? Yes or no?

That clears things up, thanks. I do own L&D and the Rose War books already, along with the companion books (great stuff by the way), so S&C and the unnamed NPC being sourcebooks clears things up (I was aware it was available already, just figured I give England a run first). Ironic that in today's climate BOTH your in depth carefully crafted work and the slapdash effort in that old Kobold press book violate standards - I agree with your sentiments in the video that it's the quality of the world and not the parentage of the author that matters. And I'll be one of the first to buy an Anarchy supplement when you put one out!

Apparently Amazon just deleted several thousand more negative reviews from their website to boost RoP's ratings.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SUKWapzNLI

Simply pathetic.

Supposedly the reviews are back. I guess as a publicly-traded company, they realized that artificially inflating your product reviews is considered securities fraud.

Yup, they are back. The overall rating has dropped to 3.3 stars now though with over 16,000 total ratings tabulated.

Yeah, they got caught, the story blew up, people showed the recepts, and Amazon hit the 'reset' button. The fact that they even THOUGHT they can get away with this just shows how brazenly unethical Amazon is. If the Federal Trade Commision comes sniffing around, Amazon can play it off as a "glitch" that occured while curating results. We all know the truth. This was a pathetically stupid attempt at damage control. They NEED Rings of Sewer to be successful, and will try every dirty trick in the book to make it so.

This is definitely not going the way Amazon thought it would.
