This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The last one is at Peckforton Castle, run by Treasure Trap (now defunct). I remember going there in 1982. Memories.

Blue Peter (BBC children's show) even went there

Ah yes the old South of Waterford piece. A few others have vids up of their adventures there too.

The castle is now used to host marriages.

Ben Elton basically parodies himself and this show with Nosin' Around in the first episode of The Young Ones

If what I saw was any indication some years ago then yes it is as you could have your wedding done up in a medieval or fantasy style. Not sure if they still do that though.

Is that the Ben Elton who did Blackadder?

According to IMDb. Yes.

Definitely, yes. His style of speaking is immediately recognisable in that clip and his body of work is very well known in the UK (though not stuff as early as the Peckforton piece above).

In the South of Waterford piece note all the still fresh faces in gaming and what all they were handling at the time. Games Workshop before the fall.
