While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). This is the feat that allow you to add you sneak/skirmish damage on a crit (not multiplied).

What do you think happen if you're in a position to to a sneak/skirmish attack and you score a crit? You add twice the sneak damage?

They didn't specify it...

I think that you don't add it but it could be argued that you do.

Opinions?

Cyclotron

Depends on the wording of the feat...  What book's it in?

"Laser beams shall not be aimed at employees."

PHB2.

I can type it when I get home.

I doubt that it could seriously be argued that way.  It'd be like trying to argue that you apply Sneak Attack Damage twice, because the target is both flatfooted and flanked.

Without yet seeing the exact wording of the text, I'd assume this feat is just providing another instance to apply Sneak Attack Damage as normal...  In fact, the WotC writers would be stupid to word it any other way.

It seems like the sort of feat I'd really like...  I'm awfully fond of playing Rogues and getting good use out of Sneak Attacks.

Sneak attack damage would not compound.  All you can do is toggle the applicability.  Anything else would be... broken. :p

My point precisely.

I'm glad it made sense.  I've been coding and almost said "it's a Boolean".

Funny thing is, it wouldn't have made any less sense to me...  :mischief:

Here it is:
QuotePrereq: Skirmish or sneak attack ability.
Benefit: When you score a critical hit against a target, you deal your skirmish or sneak attack damage in addition to the damage from the crirical hit. Your critical multiplier applies only to your normal damage, not your skirmish or sneak attack damage. This benefit affects both melee and ranged attacks.

Cyclotron

Yeah...  I think the intent's pretty clear there...

All it's saying is that a Critical Hit counts as a Sneak Attack in the same way a Flanking Attack counts as a Sneak Attack.  You'd have to be a pretty dim-witted DM to get argued into allowing a player to double up Sneak Attack damage during a Flanking Critical Hit.

Of course, you'd have to be a pretty dim-witted player to put that arguement to your DM in the first place...  After all, anything the PCs can do, so can the NPCs.

With that wording, and the low prereq, I think this is a feat that I totally want to use for a rapier wielding rogue :heh:
"Dr.Who and CoC are, on the level of what the characters in it do, unbelievably freaking similar. The main difference is that in Dr. Who, Nyarlathotep is on your side, in the form of the Doctor."

Take care Nothingland. You were always one of the most ridiculously good-looking sites on the internets, and the web too. I\'ll miss you.  -"Derek Zoolander MD" at a site long gone.

Yig

It is a must have feat for rogues and scouts.

Quote from: Harry JoyReally? I tend to avoid feats that are based on something that happens maybe once every tenth game. Honestly, that's about how often my chars crit. Yes, I literally mean once a year at best, real time. There is such hate for Feats like Mounted Combat, but when I ran a mounted guy it came up every game. Ditto Quickdraw for my current character.

It gives the opportunity to a sub-optimal build (ranged rogue) to do more with their SA.

I know how you feel. The only crits I've rolled so far were against undeads and constructs :brood:

Just get a rapier with Improved Crit :) You're gonna crit on 15+ and it will happen quite often.

One guy in the group is using one and is very lucky, keep rolling crits after crits.

That could be an interesting option for him... Now that he's almost finished building his Duelist/Swashbuckler, he could go rogue with that feat.

Eeeeenteressstiiiing....

Yig

Won't be that useful for him since he will be flanking all the time with the monk.
