This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: JimBobOzThe difference between fantasy and anime is that the h4wt chixxorz in anime have the faces and demeanours of children.
Which, if you really think about it, is kind of ishy.

Obviously.  The op has already made clear and most posters assumed he meant fantasy anime.

Indicating discomfort at the thought;i.e. discomfort over a woman's body with a girl's face presented as an object of lust when it is a young girl being portrayed.

Oh, yes, of course it's disgusting.

Those who prefer women who are in some way childlike, even cartoon women, are obviously uncomfortable dealing with adult women. Parents' basement types. Sad, really.

Fantasy art at least objectifies adult women.

Well, I am not sure if you are joking or not but yes, if you are going to hold a female up for sexual objectification then I prefer women to girls.

Lack of calcium and protein in the Japanese diet tends to produce women who are short and small-breasted. They also look a lot younger than they are (until they hit 50). Anime objectifies women based on a Japanese ideal, not a European or American one.

Mind you, they do like their school uniforms, though.

Well, Japanese breast size is rising. Yay for fast food.
But I'd say that this goes beyond young-looking. Most male characters are young, too, although they definitely are able to draw older ones. Probably the (initial?) target audience and the Disney influence.

Oh, yeah, my objection is not that the women are small but that they are often portrayed as children or adolescent (i.e. dressed that way, put in settings indicating they are children). It just has an ish factor for me. Not on a crusade or anything.
