From what I understand thus far (we're pretty early on in the process) what they want of me is to review the rules with my usual brutal honesty and explain what I think will work or not work and why, and generally make an ass of myself as a kind of devil's advocate of what's good and what's crap. Possibly to offer alternatives as well.

In other words, they want to pay me to be the Pundit. I've now gone fully Pro.

I'll be doing my best.  Thus far, I've learned that internal bureaucracy in WoTC is very slow.  I can't say how slow compared to other corporate bureaucracies, because its been ages since I've worked for any corporations; but really, I thought the whole thing was that corporations were meant to be efficient and much better at cutting through red tape than public services?
