Fencing rules?

I sorta remember some fencing rules included in A Mighty Fortress for 2e. I no longer have the book, unfortunately. Not sure what happened to it, but it was very good. In any case, I was wondering if anyone had some fencing rules (rapiers, main gauches, cloaks as shields, etc) that were simple but worked fairly well. This would be used for BFRPG or B/X, so should be easily converted, if necessary.

My first thought was range wars in Boot Hill or similar. Ya, wrong fence.

In my standard Advanced Dungeons and Dragoons game, I encourage players to allow their characters to perform maneuvers in combat that meet the requirement for an ability check, which are maneuvers beyond the intent of the standard determination to hit a target.  If they succeed in the check, they gain the benefit of the maneuver.  This is how I run fencing type moves in my standard game.  I use a level of ability checks from standard (full ability score value) to difficult (2/3 ability score value) to challenging (1/3 ability score value), but this is just the way I choose to eliminate the excessive use of modifiers, with base ratings that the player is aware.

There is this list at RPGGeek that I happened to have open that might be helpful.

Flashing Blades was always THE fencing roleplaying game for me.  Exceptionally lethal fencing rules, however, which (realistically) meant duelling was a serious business and you didn't want to get in a fight unnecessarily. No good for dungeon crawling. The majority of it could be adapted easily enough.

I have a whole module of homebrew martial arts rules, including fencing moves, that were designed around a D20ish type system, on an old hard drive. I keep on wanting to post it all somewhere. Interested?

Best RPG fencing rules I've ever seen were in the Capitan Alatriste RPG.  Which, unfortunately for most of you, is in Spanish.

The rules are a bit clunky, but it is a good game.  It seems to be lost to everyone but the Play by Post community these days.

Hey, I've got the book if you need me to look something up. There's a chapter on fighting schools that may be what you're thinking of. It has info on the Spanish and Italian schools and some optional dueling rules. Pretty neat stuff.

One of my favorite roleplaying games, of course.
