This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: stu2000My ship would have a horta-like creature called Petrock. And extra-capacity EVA helmets to accommodate the feathered hair or 'fros. And I'm pretty sure it would be called the Viva Knievel.
AAAAAAAAAHHHH THE LACK OF PLAYING THIS GAME RIGHT NOW HURTS MY SOUL!!!!!!!!!

I dunno.... I almost think this artwork is too overthetop... too much of the stuff I don't like in 40k, and not enough the stuff I DO like.  A bit to reminscent of Blanche.

Its damn hard to put to words exactly what I think is wrong and right in 40k artwork. All I know is that I think of the images of the Eisenhorn model and the accompanying artwork in Inquisitor and go 'hells yeah!!' and I see this stuff and just...

...ugh.

But why?:deflated:
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

But this is what I meant when I said capture the spirit of the 40K setting.

I really dig Blanche's work.

Yeah - I love this shit too.

Restraint is for pussies - I reckon a good 40K artist is always asking himself 'can I take this further - can this be more ancient?, can this dude have bigger muscles or more of a sneer?, can I fit more skulls and cherubs in.

You've gotta push the imagery!
Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet.
