Maps of modern buildings?

Hello Community!
I'm looking for a floorplan/map of a modern day U.S. police precinct/department, because i would need it for a NE session which i'll be running on Sunday.
Sadlily no publisher on DTRPG actually sells PD maps it seems, and the googling did not bring up usable results.

I'd be very grateful if you could help me out on the matter, because i'm almost facedesking out of frustration that i actually found 4(!) versions of a diner map on drivethru-rpg but not a single police department map.

So, what i'm looking for is a size-scaled (1" =5 feet or so) map/floorplan/tileset of a modern day U.S. police department or precinct.

Best regards,

PB

So, are you looking for something pre-gridded?  Because I've been able to find a few nifty scale drawings online that fit your general needs, but not with a grid.  Have a look at this one here:

http://www.pelhampolice.com/plans2.htm

If you work out the appropriate scaling necessary for print, you could add the grid easily enough in a graphics editor, then have it printed at a local shop.  How big does this proposed police department need to be?

Is this helpful?

[Edit: Interesting -- after looking through a few different floor plans, it's evident that your typical police station doesn't include very many holding cells on site.  Apparently they maintain only a few for processing, then transfer suspects to separate jailing facilities.]

Thx for the effort, but it was this floorplan which i found first, so, sorry, not really helpful.
I neither have the time nor skill to scale it to 1".
Oh, and a grid is NOT needed, as me and my group are playing Savage Worlds...

If you have floor plans, can't you just use a ruler and make a ratio of inches to feet?

I have said floorplan, but i don't know what scale it is and as far as i have no clue of re-scaling it properly so that an inch comes out the printer as an inch, NO.

So...you have a floor plan, but it lacks a scale?  Is it the one I linked to above?  Because I'm figuring that the vehicle pictured in the vehicular evidence bay would be at least as big as a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, which is 7 feet wide at the mirrors, making those garage bay doors maybe 10 feet wide.  Do you have access to Photoshop?  Because it has a ruler function that will allow you to resize the drawing until the width of the bay door matches an even 2 inches (5 ft per inch).

That's the best that I can suggest without finding ready-made scaled drawings -- take any drawing from the Internet, choose an object with known dimensions, then use a graphics utility to scale it, save and print.  If I can help interpret a scale for you, I'd be happy to do so.

What he said. Also, you can just print it to fit the page. Knowing that the width of the bay doors is 10 feet, which sounds reasonable, you can just measure it with a ruler and whatever distance it comes out to is 7 feet.

For example, 2 and 7/12 inches equals 7'. If you don't want to do any exact math, you could then say that one inch equals 3 feet.

Uhm, i use the metric system, normally, except when playing foreign RPGs...
So, i think i draw the map of the precinct by hand and/or dungeon crafter, modelled after the police department from Critical Locations...

That, or just do what I suggested and use cm instead.
