Title: Crazy Wizards, Dead Dragons, Woke Kickstarters
Post by: RPGPundit on April 06, 2021, 04:05:51 PM
I talk about some of my #OSR products, and why SJW grifters can make big #ttrpg Kickstarters without any real risk, but regular game designers can't.

So SJW Kickstarters are nothing more than requests for offerings to cleanse the soul of white guilt?

Personally, I'm waiting to hear what the rest of England will finally do about all those people living there of Norman descent.

It's time for those who have benefitted from the colonialist policies of their ancestors to begin reparations to the people who had the integration of a foreign culture forced upon them.

"They're paying for absolution" is too  optimistic. It implies that you actually get absolution after paying. I'm sure most of the SJWs who buy this garbage still feel guilty afterwards. The Medieval Church was more generous in this regard.

I think a simpler (and more generous) way to put this would be that people patronize the arts based on political, ethical, and religious considerations. Wokeness is somewhere between an ethical framework and a pseudo-religion. I don't have a problem putting their money there if that's what they believe in. I'd rather not put my gaming budget (or my tax dollars) into it however.

Yup. At least, at the moment, that's the flavor of the year. At other times it was other leftist causes: environmentalism, feminism, LGBT, all of which still get second-rank these days of course.
