This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

From RPG.net:

"Last week at Ambercon Northwest, Edwin Voskamp and Eric Todd announced that they had bought the rights to publish Amber roleplaying stuff from Wujcik, with signed paperwork and everything. They intend to put out a second edition"

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Sosthenes

Hmm, so they bought both the rules and the license to an Amber RPG, or just the latter?

RPGPundit

Well, from what's been posted on the Amber Mailing List, it appears that their goal is to keep the core of the game as exactly what it is now, but fix up some of the occasionally "obtuse" structure of the rulebook itself, and then add on a ton of alternate/optional rules and possible directions for the game to build on.

In other words, a toolbox.

If this is what they have in mind, I will most strongly approve!

There is a new angle to this story, a hot new scoop from yours truly, the RPGPundit, where Mr. Erick Wujcik gives his side of the story, over on my blog.

Someone might want to let the suckers over on RPG.net know that the Ambercon announcement appears to have been a little premature.

Silence, worm!

This is motherfucking AMBER we're talking about here, this isn't motherfucking rpg.net happy hour where we all sit around lapping at Ron Edward's cunt; this is serious fucking business!!
It is not the time to be trying to score stupid rhetorical points by trying inanely to compare my recognition of D20's limits of scale with people who insist that D20 is useless for anything other than D&D.
