This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Bren;830389Well mostly I was suggesting I didn't like those pictures much.

I am sure that the glued-on photo (as well as the image itself) hurt the game considerably.
Abenteuer in Magira would have fared better with a b/w line art cover in the old school vein (Midgard I, Delving Deeper, Pits & Perils).

I liked the game very much - it had nice ideas:
  • no stats, only stat bonuses, and even then you noted them only if they  were below or over the average of 0 (it was entirely possible to have a character without a stat line on the character sheet, only skills and gear)
  • every caster had to invent 10 signature spells, one for each spell level, in addition to the standard spells of the system
  • character classes were just a list of preferred skills (the game was skill-based), and they were in the culture books (like Ao-Lai oder Albyon) not the basic book
But the photo imagery had an "uncanny valley" effect that made me stick with the much more complex Midgard.
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.
(Beware. This is a Kickstarter link.)

The second piece IS from an RPG book. The rulebook for NERO I believe. A LARP. So actually totally accurate.

Speaking of live art in a RPG. Friend got me Trail of Cthulhu. That has alot of live art in the first half of the book. Some of it period pieces, Some of it heavily altered. The rest not sure.

Quote from: Mark Plemmons;830316For the Kickstarter last year, I did a limited edition hardcover. I'm going to do a POD, but I have to tweak the layout just a tiny bit for POD. The original was graphic novel size (6.625" x 10.125") and I need to change it to 7" x 10".
Chronicle City still has the hardcover + pdf bundle listed as "in stock" on their site here. Do you have any idea if this can indeed still be ordered from them?

Ironically the bottom one is much more interesting than the top one with all its silly fanboy cliches.

As far as I know, but you'd have to check. I think Noble Knight may also have some.

I still have a handful myself, if you want to get a signed one direct. Just send me a private message.

I dread the shipping costs ordering it in from the US... I'll *try* and inquire at Chronicle City first. I also want another book which they may or may not have in stock. Wish me luck.

I'll need it. I also inquired at Leisure Games UK who seem to have the game in stock.

For those interested, I have confirmation through email from both Leisure Games and Chronicle City that they have the Corporia hardcover in stock and it comes with a free pdf.

As Chronicle City is the slightly cheaper option for me I'm going to order it from them. Let's see how long it takes for the book to arrive...
