This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

That's the way to go!

Quote from: pigames.netActually, your best bet is to throw away your inkjet printer (unless it's color, of course), and pickup a laser printer - they're about $100 now and the toner cartridges, while costing about twice as much as an ink cartridge, last considerably longer--much more cost effective than an inkjet printer. The toner also doesn't dry out or the nozzles get clogged if you leave them sit for months on end.
I concur with this wholeheartedly.  The amount of pages you can get out of a laser toner cartridge vastly outstrips the increased cost, in terms of price per page.

Not only that, but refilling toner cartridges and such can actually wind up causing all sorts of problems, like printing issues, or even damaging the printer.

Just say no to inkjet printers.
Bedroom Wall Press - Games that make you feel like a kid again.

Heaven\'s Shadow - A Roleplaying Game of Faith and Assassination

And don't forget to shake that toner like mad when it starts to streak. You'll get many more copies out of it before it finally gives up the ghost.

So, what I'm going to do is refill the damn inkjet PoS until I break the thing, then go buy a laser one.

Damn right.

Only get the black and white kit though, because the color kit @ the dollar never quite have the write color mix.

Quote from: Ian AbsentiaBut what about the toner and paper necessary for them?

!i!

Unless you need high end graphics then the paper is the same for a laser or ink jet.  Lasers are actually more forgiving when it comes to the type of paper since ink absorption isn't a factor.

The toner cartridges are more expensive but they have a vastly superior yield so overall they are often about the same and sometimes cheaper.  You can also buy refiled toner cartridges.  But not refill kits for them.
