This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: GIMME SOME SUGAR;1106641Jeff has a funny way of quoting people. I like to mimic him. And i'm just venting (some day you might do the same) and I'm not expecting sympathy from Jeff the Salty Knight of Sardonic Quotes or you, the squire and conjoined twin Sureshot. I get enough comforting care from my Pokemon finger puppets that slowly twist my nipples to your sexy avatars.

Of course it's never your fault anything negative happens to you. It's everyone else.

I kind of felt bad for you for the first few seconds. I'm glad they banned you as your too much of a dumb fuck to learn any better. Nipple puppets seriously. Then you wonder why I think your in the closet.

Quote from: Omega;1106632I have to ask. What even possessed you to get on a Chaosium influenced forum and post anything that is not towing the party line now. Everyone knows they either have been infiltraited by the SJW cultists or one or more of the staff have drank deep of the kool-aid and become a cultist.

That and what possessed you to post stuff that would on even more moderate fora get you possibly in trouble. That would be a ban right out the gate over on BGG for example. Possibly deservedly so since you seem to take an adversarial stance way too often when a more sedate pace might get you more traction.

And speaking of BRP. How much of this PC nonesense has actually crept into that at this point. As of last check looked like none at all?

I think Chaosium from the 7th edition books is just more inclusive in who gets to either die, go mad or both from mythos horrors. Granted I only have the core 7th edition books. But CoC was notorious with my high school game group for the body count. Only Top Secret topped that and that's due to player shenanigans.

Our highest body count came from Twilight 2000. It was really easy to die in combat, and if you made it through that, your wounds might still kill you. We had five players in that game with stables of three PCs each in our band of survivors. We lost 4 PCs at once from an RPG hit to our Humvee, and three other characters died in that ambush. Yeah, 50% of the group gone in one encounter (in the fifth or sixth session of the game), and two others were badly wounded. We only played two more sessions after that, and we all agreed it made for a better limited run game than an open campaign (at least for us).

Quote from: GIMME SOME SUGAR;1106644Well, the funny thing is that I'm just suspended a month from the more sensitive BRP central fora, but completely BANNED from the Yog-Sothoth forum now that were said to have a little higher ceiling. The thing is also that alot of my posts seemed to have been appreciated by some members and became hot topics. When I started posting there the forum was rather slow. I gave it some fire.

Although it wasn't a Chaosium product, I think alot of nu-Chaosium's sensibility and inclusion came in the wake of Harlem Unbound. Many seemed very impressed with that product. They are making a 2nd edition now.

That makes more sense then.

You just finally stepped on one of the land mines strewn about those places. That and possibly changing staff. And/or changing staff attitudes. Much like over at BGG. They just recently changed their logo. Thich is just the most recent in their ongoing PC movement. You could see where things were heading when they made a "womens only" subforum so "women could feel safe discussing games". No. Im not joking. Here is a bit from their excuese for changing the logo.
QuoteBGG welcomes all gamers, whatever your level of experience or particular tastes, and updating the logo reflects our belief that gaming is for everyone, not just geeky guys with glasses. Whatever our differences individually, gaming brings us together. Our new symbol is a nod to BGG's past, while also inviting you to see yourself in that silhouette -- or to find your passion for play represented in that "game flame".

You, The Knight of Sexless Nights plus entourage and a couple of leftist moderators on some forums doesn't exactly constitute "everyone else". But I enjoyed the part where you "felt bad" for me for the first few seconds. That statement sure rang true and authentic. You should stop pretending so much. Just be honest like I am. It's quite refreshing.

Haha, that subforum is hilarious. I wish I could feel safe when discussing games too. But how does that forum work with the idea that gender is just a social construct? If I feel like a woman on Tuesday I must be able to post in that subforum, right?

Maybe Chaosium and Yog-Sothoth should have a Paypig Patreon subforum, btw.

Quote from: GIMME SOME SUGAR;1106336So, I got suspended a month total in all at BRP central. In a message by Jeff -
Hold on right there, son. Let me ask you two important questions:

1. do you currently have a game group?
2. when you game, do you bring snacks and share them?

I'm guessing the answer to both is "nope." I'm getting a whiff of Bitter Non-Gamer here, and when people are BNGs, there's usually a reason they don't have a group: they're someone who doesn't try to contribute to everyone else's fun.

You guess wrong.

1) Yes, I have a gaming group. We have known each other (apart from a friend's gf) since we were kids. Now that we are older we aren't as many as in the mid and late 1980's, but 1-4 players each session is enough for me anyway.
2) Since I'm usually the GM/Keeper somebody else brings stuff to eat. Sometimes I have something at home. Sometimes your gf comes over and cooks for us. Sometimes we just bring what we will eat ourselves. Eating isn't essential to playing roleplaying games. We don't game for 12 hours straight anymore either. So it all depends.

It's not really the place to promoting one either.  If someone started promoting Christianity on there (or God forbid) RPG.NET there would be an absolute shit storm.

You try to act like your better then everyone else here and failing spectacularly.

Myself and others predicted how exactly you act when we don't give you what you want and you did that perfectly.

As for hating you I don't. I just find you pathetic and beneath my notice.

Abraxus

To the posters who said promoting and not promoting a religion on an rpg site. I agree with both those comments. When it's obvious that the forum is more predisposed to one or the other one should also read the room so to speak. When rpg forum XYZ is in favor of religion ABC going on said forum when it and the posters favor the religion is asking to be screwed over by the mods and posters.

No it's not fair and a shitty thing to do be done to those who dislike the religion being talked about. Again read the room. For example I never liked how somehow Islam survived as religion in Eclipse Phase. Not sure if they left that in 2E. Somehow every other religion including my own did not adapt and survive and one of the more intolerant, oppressive and regressive has. If anything with people able to go from one body to another upon death most religions or any that had an afterlife would dead in that setting.

I'm just better than you and your little entourage (the "others" that you speak of, probably members of your sauna club for men), that's it. And if I'm beneath your notice, then why do you keep posting in threads I make? Do you think I will fold and whimper just because you post something contrary to my posts? Should I tremble in your presence? I'm sure that you are an online powerplayer, with lots of influence and friends, but I give exactly zero fucks about that. I bet you predicted that too?

In EP2e, many religions survived the fall, but most lost any centralized organization (Catholicism was an exception as its center moved to the Jovian Republic) and almost all (including Islam) were transformed by the Fall. Overall, religions are only a brief mention in EP2e with only 2 pages in total spent describing them in a 400+ page book. IMO, they really have gone a little far in having people brush off religion and replace it with the new "theology of economic autonomy" because no matter how much the logical foundations of a religion are shaken, it has a lot of cultural and historical momentum that the EP writers generally ignored. Of course, the EP writers are well-known for painting almost everything that currently exists as bad/flawed/inferior compared to the "magical utopian" societies of transhuman autonomists.
