This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Caturday? Really?

Quote from: Willie the Duck;981056...the OP was rolling their eyes at this product in particular and saying, 'would you look at this' in a mocking tone and everyone else looking them in the eye and saying, 'yes, and?'

Of course he was. I'm waiting for his comments about "real roleplayers" and how this is just a war game not a "real RPG."

This is no sillier than Tieflings and Dragonborn for D&D. In fact I find it less silly.

But then I am a Mark Rogers fan.

I'm happily ignorant of what exactly those are.

Fiend blooded and draconic humanoids.

See Nastassja Kinski.

So... It isn't just the name of the book, but the actual name of the race itself?  I'm alright with cat people in rpgs, but naming them after an internet reference...  That seems odd.  Might as well make an organization sourcebook called "The Redditors."

Means absolutely nothing to me...thankfully. :)

Folk with lower planar ancestry and folk that are dragonish?

IN more recent editions, horn 'n tail people without scales and horn 'n tail people with scales?  :D

DavetheLost

I only know them because one showed up as a miniature in a Kickstarter I backed.

The phrase that pays is "more recent editions." I haven't played AD&D since around 1992, discounting a one-off here and there, and those games were with the original edition...I'm not really into D&D. I've probably seen drawings of these creatures from the 2000s but if they are what I think they are, I found them to be up that whole "edgy dark elf" alley.

Quote from: Voros;981000Well there's no real mythological stories of cat people are there? Seems to lack the resonance to me, but in terms of overall silliness no there's not much daylight between them.

James V. West made an OSR talking animals hack.

Dog Day Afternoon with dogs in all the parts is an inspired idea I think. Someone make it happen.
So I take it you lack even the most basic knowledge of Japanese mythological creatures then????? Seems to me the Koreans have some story's as well.
sjw social just-us warriors

now for a few quotes from my fathers generation
"kill a commie for mommy"

"hey thee i walk through the valley of the shadow of death but i fear no evil because im the meanest son of a bitch in the valley"

Oh yeah good point about the Fox stories. Seems to me that Golden Sky Stories is a better way to play Henge that this though.

A Cat People rpg would be interesting, set in the 40s or 80s to reflect the original and the remake.
