This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[Call of Cthulhu] Supplements worth picking up?

I got Kingsport. It's pretty great. I've been working on a non-Lovecraftian horror thing set in 1964, and I'm absolutely using Kingsport.

I just scored a copy on Noble Knight for 22$.  Thisd comes of, course just days after swearing off buying more gaming stuff. It does fulfill a gap in my assortment of shit though.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Quote from: Aos;458702Okay then, what if i wanted to integrate one of the cities into my sometimes horror themed supers game/setting, which one would be best?

I've been thinking about a Supers game using the Arkham Now and Miskatonic University supplements.

I could incorporate Arkham Asylum. Always thought that the Joker was a very Nyarlathotep-esque character.

Quote from: RPGPundit;458691This game has been blessed with so much good material, it might be easier to just ask "which supplements AREN'T worth picking up", because they'll be in the minority.

If this thread's anything to go by, that does seem to be the case.

And the killer is, I've been running it for 12+ years withou even looking at a supplement. Straight out of the core book. Only the D&D RC compares in this regard.

Right now I'm between Malleus Monstrorum and Cthulhu Invictus.

I rather liked Cthulhu Invictus, and its hard for Roman-setting games to please me, being something of an expert on the subject and all.

I've been reading my way through Our Ladies Of Sorrow... which is based off of the short Thomas de Quincy story that Dario Argento used for his Suspiria/Inferno/The Mother of Tears trilogy... 'Levana And Our Ladies Of Sorrow' Link to story
The Mythos makes no direct appearances... it's more an intimately creepy tale of powerful spirits. The sort of thing I'd love to run for the right group.
