I imagine it's one of those games that it is actually beneficial if not played face to face.

That's why even when done as a parody game, I'd rather play it as a play-by-post game.

Urban Arcana still feels like it got alot right. d20 Gamma World should have worked fine. If it hadnt been once again in the wrong hands. Still curious about d20 Dark*Matter. Some of the Polyhedron mini settings for d20m were interesting too.
