Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). I know many of us have been waiting for this for a while. Through Sunken Lands and Other Adventures, the sword and sorcery version of Beyond the Wall, is coming out soon if all goes according to plan.

For those who aren't familiar with it, Beyond the Wall is an OSR product aimed at emulating young adult fantasy works like the Earthsea or Prydain novels. Its biggest attractions (IMO) are the lifepath chargen system that both creates your character and establishes their bonds with other characters (a more standard chargen option is available), and the magic system which does away with the arcane/divine split in favor of a more evocative (for the genre) system of different types/tiers of magic, from simple cantrips to powerful rituals.

Hell yeah!
I have Beyond the Wall after buying it for its hype, never ran it though. But any game that emulates Lieber's stories is going to get my support.

I like so many of the concepts. Getting people to try something new is always a challenge.

Joey2k

It's close enough to D&D that it shouldn't be too hard of a sell.

I'm not very familiar with Beyond the Wall.  How OSR is it?  Can you easily use these rules with Keep on the Borderlands or Stonehell or Castle Xyntillan or other popular OSR products?  Will you be able to easily run these adventures with Through Sunken Lands?

It is very OSR which can do those settings pretty well, but why would you?  It is very much a make your setting book.  You even have tools to create your home town where you grew up in and have strong connections with.

So it's finally here.

Why not? I don't always have time to create from scratch and being able to grab already made stuff helps

Been waiting for this one.
Beyond the Wall was such a great way to get a group going and the theme of this one just makes it better.

POD is now available on Drive-thru if anyone is interested

Hm, I can get the pdf, but the printed book is too pricey for me.

If the original is any example, this is a great product.
I'm going to have to pony up.
