Best system to run warhammer fantasy with?
bat:
1e or 4e at this point because, as others have said, 2e is hard to get. I am considering using BoL/Everywhen as the core, introducing the careers from WFRP and flavoring the magic system with Warhammery goodness.
Godfather Punk:
Shadow of the Demon Lord is a d20 variant for when Warhammer isn't grimdark enough.

Yes and no. I like SotDL, but the characters feel much more like D&D characters in a WFRP/D&D hybrid setting (and with somewhat of a WFRP life expectancy). It's a fun game, but it doesn't feel like WFRP to me. There's too little of the politics and mundane struggles that I think of eith WFRP. On the other hand, if your WFRP is more focused on the end times and fighting face to face with beasties and Chaos warriors, then SotDL may do it better.
Also, SotDL uses a d20, but it is not a "d20 game" the way 3e-derivitaves are.

Weirdly, I think that Sword of Cepheus or Barbaric! might be able to emulate the gameplay of Warhammer Fantasy pretty well.
David Johansen:
First or second edition Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay would be fine.
If not, I'd suggest Rolemaster Standard System, Dungeoneer The Fighting Fantasy rpg, or Maelstrom.
