Distances people drive to play.

I have driven anywhere from 30 to 75 minutes or so to game.  The time never bothered me for the longer drive but I go from a fairly rural area to thick highway traffic (which to me causes more stress than the time itself in the car).  Normally, I would prefer it to be 30 minutes or less but I am willing to go a bit further if the company and gaming is good.

In fact, the 30 minute drive got to be far worse as social "wheels within wheels" turned and social oneupmanship became more important than gaming or even being civil.

Unless it's something really special, I don't travel more than 45 minutes or 30 miles for a game...

One of my players travels about that much for my weekly game, which I am very appreciative of. Thankfully, new players pop up on nearbygamers.com and penandpapergames.com every other week... Unfortunately they all seem to want to play D&D 4e.

Oh, one more thing: six or seven years ago, I was regularly gaming on the other side of my home town. On game weekends, I typically took the bus downtown, we would start at 14 or 15:00, game until 3 or 4 in the morning, and then each of us would go home on foot. In my case, this was about 6 km, a nice night walk. None of us had cars back then (I still don't; everything is withing walking distance where I am now located). Good times...

I drive about 75-90 minutes one way to game now.

We had a small game shop open a while back in my town but it went under after 6 months win the Co-Owners had a spat and split.

The last regular game I played in was about 35-40 minutes away, every other weekend. That would be OK for a really good game, but this game was mediocre and not really worth the drive, so I wasn't too distraight when it broke up. For an infrequent game (monthly or less often) I'd probably be willing to drive up to an hour, but for anything regular (weekly ot bi-weekly) I'd prefer no more than 15-20 minutes.

330 kms for one of my games (monthly). Didn't want to leave the campaign after getting posted ;)

For us 30 min each way except for the host.  I'd be willing to drive farther if the sessions lasted longer.

Heck, I used to spend an hour commuting each way to work every day and RPGs are something I want to do.  (Although I do like my work)

Sometimes the host for the week is one living about 60 miles away.

I used to have a player who would drive up from Norfolk for the weekend (4 hours/240 miles away), and in addition to playing the game, would visit (and stay at) friends for the weekend.

Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

The longest I've driven for a game was about 50 miles, and that was really on the cusp of a comfortable driving distance. Any longer and it wouldn't be worth the time spent getting to the location for me.

Up until I moved about I drove about an hour door to door. We'd do more than game though. I'd leave the house at about 11:00AM and get back after midnight (or later). We would usually hit art supply and gaming stores, watch a movie and play a game, and then hang out for a couple of hours afterward.

I couldn't say. That's a subjective question. I'm going to be driving over thirty minutes to play with a group starting tomorrow. I feel, in this case, it's worth it. I might not if I were playing with a second group, it wasn't a game I was as fond of, if I had less free time or money, etc..
