This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What do you think of Call of Cthulhu 6th Edition?

How do you get free shipping?  Do they have some buy X amount dealie I missed?  I didn't look too hard, but when Basic Roleplaying alone was gonna run me 10 bucks of shipping I didn't keep looking over their goodies.

If its a certain amount, I would buy a ton of their shopworn stuff.  I haven't bought any of their nifty fiction collections since.. 95 or so.  And I feel bad.  Loved those things.

I'm excited, my money manager (also known as 'wife') has just given me the go-ahead. Sounds lame, but we don't like unexpected spending in this household :P

DCC In Space!

Well, take it from me.  Nothing wrong with having a good woman in your life even if you lose a touch of freedom.

But anyhow I placed an order for some stuffs.

Basic Roleplaying, a book on Mythos Magic from their Monograph line, Last Rites and Cthulhu Dark Ages.  The latter 2 in shopworn format.  Save money for some wear and tear on the cover.  Who cares really?

At some point, around 4th or 5th, they increased the number of skill points for both education and intelligence.  I think 6th, and possibly 5th also has a bit more support for both modern and 1890's than the earlier editions.  I can't think of anything else of substance that has changed.  I've played with 3 different version at a table and no one noticed any rules issues.

Quote from: Consonant Dude;289298The new French 6th edition is an entirely different beast. It is a very significant update and not a translation of the English 6th.

I'm quite surprised. That a localized version would differ from the English version is expected : it's always a good move to fit the style to the audience, rework some fluff to the local taste or inject some extra material so bilingual players will actually buy the translated version. But usually those improvements are circumscribed to the fluff/optional rules. I wonder how they worked out to grant some autonomy on the game mechanics to translators. Or maybe the French/Quebecois players are beta testing a future version ? I'm really curious.
