This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Just wondering if anyone has the Gazetteer, and what they think of it. I know it's designed to be used with any system, so that's a big plus. I'm intrigued on the frozen world idea. Is it lots of viking stuff, or a mix of cultures?

I quite like Hellfrost.

The Saxa are the Viking types. The Players Guide has five other human cultures to play with, from the nomadic Finnar (Finnish) to the urban Anari (Romanesque).

I have heard the Hellfrost Gazetteer compared to the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer (if that helps).

Great review here.

That reviewer needs some Ritalin. A whole paragraph crying about his ADD. Like I give a crap.

Aren't the cultures given explanations in the Gazetteer?

If I get this, it won't be for use with Savage Worlds, that's why I liked the idea of system-free.

The cultures (and religions) are in the Player's Guide, but each is really just a general overview...six or seven paragraphs each.

You can download the Hellfrost Gazetteer Preview PDF and some other free stuff at the bottom of the Triple Ace Games Hellfrost page.
