Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[Atomic Highway] Speak to me of it!

Quote from: Gruntfuttock;433003The best thing about the game is the V6 engine that powers it. The rules are simple and straightforward, easy to learn, fast in play, and surprisingly subtle. You have to use the rules in actual play to appreciate how good they are, as on the page they can seem rather bland.

What's the resolution mechanic? What's combat like -- hit points, damage save, hit locations, death spiral?

Quote from: Gruntfuttock;433003The second supplement is 'Twisted Armageddon' which is currently in development, but Colin Chapman has put the cover up on the RAD forum:

http://forums.radioactiveapedesigns.com/index.php?topic=244.0

This cover shows a killer robot, a zombie, and an alien – so that's all your Terminator, Zombieland and V references covered. Hopefully this should be available soon, but the RAD forums already feature fan contributions for zombies and other foul creatures.

This sounds like the sort of toolkit I'm looking for.

It does say "by fans, for fans" though -- is it just a compilation of fan material?

Nope, not a compilation of fan material. Rather, the writers are fans of the game recruited from the forums because they were creative and generally awesome. :)

The basics of the V6 Engine system are on the RAD website HERE.

cheers!

Darn it, I didn't even know you had forums! Until recently.

I actually didnt even think of it.  I will probably check their forums because you can always find good stuff to add to your game.  People will think of things you didnt plus its great to talk to other fans

Quote from: Tetsubo;432984I read AH and my reaction was, 'meh'. It seems to do what it set out to do. So in that regard it is a success. I just don't need what it is offering. If I wanted to run a PA game *today* I would grab my copy of Gamma World 4th Edition (1992) off of the shelf (within arms reach).

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.  GW doesnt interest me because I dont want to be stuck with someone elses setting/background, expecially one that I dont think is very good.

I like a system that I can use to make a custom made setting that is just what I am looking for

As much as I love Gamma World, I rather love Atomic Highway as well. I think it has the basic solid mix of realism and "madness," that works for me and lets me dial it any direction I want.

In this case I'm allowed to add in fun stuff for my PC's, and not drop all the weird tech in to quickly.

Next time I run the game (Saturday the 22) I'm hoping they get to the "city." Which is small, ruined, and filled with fun things to do....

Face off against the Wailing ones, discover who fortified the town mall, face off against the swarm, among other things, plus, find a clue in the ruins to what might have started the apocalypse.

Agreed

I am running session 3 tomorrow night.  The group is going against a den of raiders living in a cave base.  I think they are over there head and we will see how it works out since they are attempting to face them head on
