This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

That looks pretty good. Any way to do it more subtle though, so that it doesn't detract from the big Sun Wheel and Logo?

I think the thing would be to make it a very soft thing, so that someone looking at the cover wouldn't really notice it was there, but they'd notice if it was removed. That kind of thing.

It was just a quick mock-up, so yeah, it's easy to be more subtle with the right files to start (without logo, place logo later, etc.). Like I said, I've got some time today, so if you guys want some help with it, I'll handle it.

On my buy list.

Totally need a printed version on acid-free paper with permanent long-lasting full color ink.
Blackmoor grew from a single Castle to include, first, several adjacent Castles (with the forces of Evil lying just off the edge of the world to an entire Northern Province of the Castle and Crusade Society's Great Kingdom.

That's a beautiful cover and I'm really looking forward to it.

I firmly second this.
Here for the games, not for it being woke or not.

I love that cover.  I immediately know what kind of encounter that is.  It both feels natural to D&D, and also exotic.  Well done.

Agree with the textured yellow. It's probably already done but Brett's mock up has the level of it just pare the transparency of the textured layer back a bit. it would also work with a texture taken from Hindi or Jainist temple carvings again pared right back to the faintest overlay.

I also notice the Fighter is unarmoured which is great for the setting but is it replicable in play? A pet peeve of mine is an image in a game book that can't happen in play.

Could you make the yellow texture go all the way to the bottom yellow strip? My mind wants consistency for some reason.

And for some reason looking at that emblem bothers me with that background texture. I think the emblem is a transparency atop the yellow texturing? Sorta too busy, it hurts my eyes. Could the emblem be made more opaque?

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

That was just a sample. Bret gave us a hand with a new texture which will be on the bottom yellow band as well.

I think the cover looks very exciting. Although I am late to the congratulations party, I mean it very sincerely. This has taken me from "not particularly interested" to "genuine interest". Great work!

Wow. Thanks. That is a very helpful comment. I am glad it grabbed your attention.

Very much like the cover!

The only suggestion I have is...consistency. I like being able to identify books in a line, along books of a publisher, on my bookshelf. If Bedrock has a consistent style, Id stick with it, or redefine it by whatever you do here.
