Title: [aquerra] So who's reading my story hour?
Post by: el-remmen on April 14, 2006, 07:30:09 PM
I mean, people must be at least looking at it because the views go up between visits, but no one has commented.

Just curious of what people thing of the meta-game commentary.  Is it useful?  Is it interesting?  Should I go into more detail about certain aspects of DMing I am overlooking?  Would you have done something in particularly differently?

So let's hear it.

I skim them while i'm approving them. I think the DM commentary is a neet idea so far, and if for no other reason than your own records, I think you should keep doing it.

I'm reading them. Before, it seemed like so much to try to catch up with, so I wouldn't even start them. Coming gradually, I like them. I also think the commentary is good, showing some of your work from a different angle. I've enjoyed them so far.

Was there any particular feedback you were hoping for?

Checking for "Thjalfi is poopy-head" hidden in the text? ;)

No, no particular feeback - just curious who was reading (Great, the English Prof. is reading my awkward prose ;)), and what people thought of the commentary in general.  They are fun to write, but I thought it would generate questions.

When I'm at Nutkinland, I'm off the clock. Write away without fear.

Hey, if I can't stand having profs reading my writing I won't exactly cut it in grad school, will I? ;)

I'm checking it, but I've already read it this far, so I'll skim it at best, waiting for you to hit a point in the story which I haven't read yet.

Just a note that this week's installment (and follow-up commentary) will be delayed a day or two.  I'm going out tonight and tomorrow and have my M&M game on Sunday.

I've already read all of the storyhour itself (but you know that).

I really like the commentary though and read the new one whenever it comes up. As a self taught DM that has so far never played under a more experienced DM it's vital for me to learn from whatever others can give over the internet. Your commentary so far has been quite good in that regard.
