This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Any video games you'd like to see as paper RPGs?

Overwatch - A team of enhanced/super-skilled humans/cyborgs/genetically enhanced/androids that saved the world from the Skynet/Matrix machine takeover, only to be outlawed as an organization and broken up in the post-war utopia where half have become mercenary terrorists, and the other half are outlawed vigilante's trying to save the world from one another. (I'd personally use FASERIP/ICONS/Savage Worlds for this)

X-COM 1- You are part of a multi-national agency that investigates UFO sites and find out the aliens are trying to take over. Under the auspices of the X-COM agency, you and your team are going to stop them. (Cyberpunk 2020/Interface Zero 2.0)

X-COM 2- Aliens have taken over the world, and Earth has allowed it willingly. They're our friends! You know better. You are the resistance.(Cyberpunk 2020/Interface Zero 2.0)

Crimson Skies! - Alt-Historical 1930's America where the US broke up into different nations and the skies are ruled by air-pirates, and sky-marshals. Flying bands of mercs, pleasure-dirigibles. Pulp fiction and dieselpunk glory.

Dark Souls. Not interested in the physics-simulation aspect, but how the world myths and particulars would translate to tabletop. The undead curse, going hollow, souls hunting, world cycles, etc.

Darklands. Historic gothic medieval europe with it's myths, actual religious orders, real saints names, and alchemy in place of magic.

Um... take the original boxed set and give it the Mechwarrior treatment like Battletech got? That's not sarcasm, I would buy it right now.

That's more for the tactical side of things. But I want a new system that does it all, and does it well. But yeah I could see this as a strong possibility.

Oh the memories. Now that you mention it, a tabletop RPG of it would totally rock. As would one of Altered Beast!

Oodles, mostly older stuff:

Langrisser (Warsong) as a D&D 4e derivative, with purchased minions as class specialized henchmen per PC Unit.

Shining Force, also likely a D&D 4e derivative, possibly an even more paired down Essentials. Like, paired down as in HP starts in the single digits, surges don't exist, etc.

Dark Wizard (Sega CD) as a Birthright domain management alternate setting.

Phantasy Star done by SWN. Other Dust might be able to do a great Phantasy Star III post-apocalyptic survivors on an ark ship.

Savage Worlds might be fast, yet complex enough for Grandia. Might.

Changeling Dreaming 1e might emulate some of the puzzle fighter rpgs out there, especially with oathsworn motleys stacking cantrips from each other.

I'd kill for an OD&D or Runequest take on Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord. Pseudo-Greek map and all.

Mouse Guard does Mickey Mouse & the Castle of Illusion? :p

Tons of games I'd like to see at least a published module variant of old faves.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

There is a 5e Dark Souls hack out there. Pretty good too.

Loved Darklands when I played it on Gog.com.
