This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Any video games you'd like to see as paper RPGs?

I don't really see the burning need for another FRPG although The Witcher would be tempting.

An RPG based on Valiant, my all time favourite shooter, would be intriguing. But the beauty in that game is the gameplay rather than the setting...

So a Starbound RPG?

I'm not familiar with Starbound.

Speaking of unicorns... I would love a Super Mario Bros. roleplaying game. And DOOM.

This may sound strange, but I'd love to see someone take Fight! and make it more like a normal RPG, and then tailor it to the  Street Fighter setting.

Or, for smirking revenge, adapt Crusaders of the Lost Idols into a tabletop game. Very, very weird setting.

I've run DOOM with Savage Worlds and it was outrageously fun. I'd love to see an official version as long as it wasn't done by FFG with their weird dice.

My mind is telling me to vote for Fallout, but my heart is rooting for The Elder Scrolls. Morrowind soaked up more of my time than any other video game in existence, and TES has more lore already written for it than any other fantasy setting I can think of.

Terraria. In space.

As a total flip on my own thread, I could see twilight 2xxx being done as an PC game, both a single player fps and  an online multiplayer team combat game.

There's a great DCC version of Mario called Mushroom Kingdom Classics that the designer made for his kids. He distributes it for free on G+

That is cool. I found it. Thanks for the info.

I've played an extremely entertaining Mass Effect game using an nWoD hack which I'd play again.

Other than that, I'd quite like an Assassin's Creed game; more for the dipping in and out of various historical periods, rather than the nonsense around actually being in the Animus.
Currently running: Tyche\'s Favourites, a historical ACKS campaign set around Massalia in 300BC.

Thinking long and hard on the matter.....no. Not a single one.

Illwinter's Dominions series (though you can home-brew it from the game & manual. The game mechanics are actually something I'd sooner adapt to homebrew than use D&D mechanics.)
Illwinter's Conquest of Elysium series
Bungie's Myth (oh wait, there's already GURPS Myth, though I disrespect the power levels they gave some things)
Die By The Sword, the mapped tactical combat RPG
Omintrend's Universe (would be sort of a re-mix of Traveller, though)
X-COM (sort of)
GURPS Planetside 2 (though just so I can do scenarios where the gameplay is different, and jerks riding personal ATVs into combat get slaughtered)
King of Dragon Pass though that'd be just a community strategic-level system for Runequest, which maybe exists?

Quote from: Dumarest;982649Forgot to mention Dig-Dug and Galaga.

I think Dig-Dug in particular could be a lot of fun.

I would play Tabletop Dig-Dug for sure. Also Defender.
Old School? Back in my day we just called it "School."

Let's see:

1.) Joust: Yes, the subterranean lava caves, knights, flying bird mounts, eggs, pterodactyls, etc. It's some kinda weird techno-fantasy thing going on there, and I wanna play it.
2.) Tony Hawk Pro Skater: If you can make skateboarding entertaining in an RPG as well as it is done in THPS, I'd love to see how you did it.
