This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Looking for weird/bizarre adventure ideas or story seeds

I'm trying to get an idea of how feasible it might be to run a campaign with the level of weird/bizarre-ness that one might expect from the Grant Morrison 'Doom Patrol' run, or what was seen in the FX show 'Legion.'

The biggest obstacle I see in attempting something like this is coming up with situations odd enough for the players to have to then MacGuyver their way out of, using whatever harebrained ideas they can think of that might make things "better."

What resources might you be aware of for really strange adventure seeds/plots? Is there a decent source of story seeds that might be something that could work similarly?

The closest thing I think I've seen/know of that is along the lines of what I'm thinking of is like the "What You Hear" tidbits in Unknown Armies, but a lot of that isn't particularly gameable or is overly tied to the setting.

Try watching one of the 90s adventure shows like Hercules, Xena, Lost World, Beastmaster, Conan, etc. The plots aren't always good, but they do have lots of ideas.

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

I always got a lot of mileage out of the Weekly World News.  It was great for my old Dark*Matter game.  Just assume every story has some sinister angle.
