This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I used to like OgreCave and Sons of Kryos, but they have become all thematic gamey. Especially the latest SofK episode was a total miss for me.
I appreciate the efforts and laurels of thematic games and their makers, but I don't want to hear about them anymore.
Just as I don't want to hear about model trains or women`s football. Not my cup of tea.

Is there a general gaming podcast left?

The only one I can still bear are the GAMESTAS
http://www.gamestas.net/

But they seem to take the thematic route, too...at least htey are funny

Is there any pure adventure gamer left on the internet? Does he do podcasts? If so, let me know.

Try Dragon's Landing.  It's mostly d20, which is why I don't lsiten often, but it's pretty entertaining.

I don't think I've even heard them talk about a Thematic game.

I submit, for your consideration, the Fnordcast. A few warnings: it is a corporate-produced podcast, so we do focus on SJGames' products. However, we are gamers, and we are aiming for a "general gaming" show -- giving time to the stuff we make allows us to get paid while doing the recording:)

And yes, I am the marketing guy, so I may be biased. But I am genuinely proud of the three episodes we've produced, so I'm shilling it as a creator, not as a corporate cog.

Well RPGsite must be doing well if we're getting game designers, porn spammers and now viral marketeers.

I would second the recommendation for Dragon's Landing.  Also, I would recomment "All Games Considered" (which covers RPGs, Boardgames, Cons) and probably my favorite podcast (Starting Now d20 RPG Podcast) which revolved around a gaming group talking about their Eberron campaign.

I thought the Starting Now group had the best chemistry and was the most focussed.  The others talk about multiple topics (whether board games or creating their own fantasy world) many of which don't really interest me. Fortunately, since it's a podcast, you can just fast forward over those parts...

"Viral marketeer" gives viruses a bad name, since they at least have the *possibility* of having a soul.

Us guys in Marketing? Not so much:)

I recommend people avoid the fnordcast. SJG's forums are pretty bad, so it's doubtful that a podcast ran be the same crew would be any good.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

That's not true.  The Fnordacast is actually pretty good.  They talk a lot about house games (naturally) but they try to throw regular gaming goodness in.  It's pretty cool.

I don't know what it is about their forums people have a problem with, but the two are mutually exclusive.

ack! I totally forgot to mention Midnights Lair! Especially check out episode 6 where the main event was "Super Hero Campaigns".

Dude, dar, I didn't even get into ML until after I made the above post.  I will heartily second it...it's an excellent podcast!
