This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

When I can play in person yes to both. I'm a broke ass Mexican so mainly cheap stuff, print and paste for the tiles/terrain and papercraft for the props with 2d miniatures/standups

I saw you mentioned in the other thread Fat Dragon's stuff - I absolutely love their papercraft. In fact, about a decade ago their EZ Tiles were what started me down the path of using terrain instead of just a battlemat.

I'm pretty sure it was Shrieking Banshee who mentioned FD, but it sure wasn't me. I'm too broke to buy their stuff, I use PWYW/Free stuff or I make my own.

Edited to add: I don't like tall walls so I use the 2.5D tile system.

Thanks, yes and no, I did use some images from google images and then  modified them for some, the wooden is 100% mine and also the water/sewage. And also the Sci-Fi one is 100% mine.

Those are in 3 cms size if you want to use them for 1 inch you would need to resize them down, haven't tried it so I don't know by what percentage you'd need to reduce them.

I don't make handcrafted terrain (foamboard, cardstock, etc.), but I have a ton of 3D printed terrain and continue to print more and fall behind further in painting it :) My dungeon and cavern tiles are all 3D printed, and I'm doing a number of buildings and a customized modular wilderness tile system as well.

One of the reasons I use print and paste stuff. Not the main one, that being my brokeness.

Yeah, part of the problem with printing is it can be addictive. Kind of like buying* miniatures you'll never get around to painting :)

*: Or also printing, which I started doing a couple months ago.

I buy the 3D stuff.

If it counts, I've been getting into making 2D colour terrain using my colour laser printer for printed images, plus my new laminator which I love dearly. 8) Laminating the images makes them 'pop' far more, like applying a slight gloss varnish to minis, and the card paper becomes rigid & durable, with a markable erasable surface perfect for gaming & showing spell effect zones etc.

I was printing/laminating/taping battlemaps with existing 1" square grids, but I've started printing a 1" grid onto ungridded terrain before laminating, which is working well. Except when I accidentally fed two pages into the laminator at once.  :o

I've done all sorts of crafting for gaming. Usually small stuff though like handouts, maps, and forays into papercrafting. Alot of projects on hold for ages unfortunately.

On the PC side though I had some huge projects for D&D and other gaming stuff recreated in Minecraft.

The biggest was a to-scale recreation of Keep on the borderland which was 80% done when a computer crash lost all my work. That map alone also had recreations of the ruins and dungeon of BX and a partially complete Tomb of Horrors.

Also recreated Burnt Brush Wells from Boot Hill and another town. Also lost along with the Znutar and many other projects.

On a seperate map recreated a Spelljammer Nautiloid and the BSM Pandora.

Unfortunately an update to MC cause chunk errors that ruined my full scale TOS Enterprise. Though the Tower of the Elephant from Conan survives yet.

Really interesting to wander around the Keep and get a feel for its actual scale. Been re-creating the project slowly and with slightly better scale I hope this time.

I do all sorts. I used to make cosplay and terrain out of EVA Foam and now I do 3D printing. In general I love making things as it as kept me busy during these crappy covid times.

Maker and model of the laminator?

It's a Bonsaii A3 laminator, when I click the amazon link it shows the smaller A4 version for some reason:
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Z9NBZM0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Since my laser printer is A4 I'm mostly printing A4 pages anyway, but the A3 size is nice for laminating WoTC poster battle maps - typically I cut them in 2 or 4, laminate then tape back together so they can fold away smallish. It's also possible to put two A3 pouches over a map up to 12"x36" for a single long strip of terrain.

Here's Bonsaii's US page http://bonsaii.com/country/us/product_Laminator.html
It's the only laminator I've used, it works great (& was very cheap) but no reason to think others don't too. The real work is being done by the laminating pouches. One thing I've noticed is that with larger print sizes it's best to use the thick-pouch (higher heat) setting, otherwise it may cool off too much during lamination & you get imperfectly laminated pockets.
