I buy the 3D stuff.
If it counts, I've been getting into making 2D colour terrain using my colour laser printer for printed images, plus my new laminator which I love dearly.
Laminating the images makes them 'pop' far more, like applying a slight gloss varnish to minis, and the card paper becomes rigid & durable, with a markable erasable surface perfect for gaming & showing spell effect zones etc.
I was printing/laminating/taping battlemaps with existing 1" square grids, but I've started printing a 1" grid onto ungridded terrain before laminating, which is working well. Except when I accidentally fed two pages into the laminator at once.
