This is a busy time at work so I haven't been paying attention like I normally would, but we're there any big announcements at Gencon?

New edition of Masks of Nyarlathotep apparently.

I wasn't there, obviously.
I pretended that a picture of a toddler was representative of the Muslim Migrant population to Europe and then lied about a Private Message I sent to Pundit when I was admonished for it.  (Edited by Admin)

The star wars teat seems infinitely full for ffg

WFRP 4th was announced months ago. Star Wars 30th Anniversary I saw on ENworld, although it may have come from Gencon.

They did have Mark Rein-Hagen becoming part of the new Vampire team.

Anything else?

They did have it announced a good while ago. But I think it's supposed to be making an appearance (according to a flyer I saw). Fingers crossed for that. If it wasn't C7 I wouldn't really be all that interested, as the rules for 2e are pretty damn cool.

I saw Mark RH was to be added to the Vamp 5e team. Probably too little too late after seeing the alpha test. Unless they will change it significantly now that he's onboard.

They brought him on board?

I look forward to that project going south then

Vampire was great when Mark Rein-Hagen was at the helm. It was Justin Achilli who ruined Vampire, not Rein-Hagen, you contrarian dipshit.

Mark Rein-Hagen and Ken Hite are going to fix what Justin Achilli broke.

Anime Rules! Marvel and DC suck!

Hagen was the man at that stage... If he was heading up the 5e project originally I would have been excited. But judging from the alpha monstrosity, that they released recently, it's past the point of no return.

Sure, I still love playing 2e and V20 anyway!

BTW Huge Honorable mention goes to Steve C Browne for creating the original player's guide to the Sabbat!!!

Hagen's track record on Kickstarter is not a positive one.

I've no idea why he's even necessary. Vampire at this point surely writes itself. We know the clans, we know the factions, we know that nobody gives a hoot about the Humanity system. I never did and got tremendous enjoyment running it more in the vein of Forever Knight than St Angstula of Trenchcoat Town.

GenCon isn't really a RPG convention anymore so not a lot of RPG news. FFG announced a table top war game based on Star Wars which is big news.

SJ Games did a surprise release of the PDFs for Dungeon Fantasy but that isn't new.

FFG's announcements are like Buckaroo.

Sooner or later they are going to produce the one product that tips them over the edge and the horse kicks them out of business

I watched the end of the live-stream of the Ennie Awards... Tales from the Loop won a bunch of stuff... Veins of the Earth took some silvers... Chaosium got best publisher I think.

If Gencon isn't really a RPG convention any more then what is it?
