This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Anima: Beyond Fantasy?

How does this compare with Anima Tactics? Are the stats similar?  Is there come kind of conversion in case you wanted to move a character from one to the other?

There are conversions available for most canon characters in Anima Tactics to the RPG, some canonical, most fandom-made. A typical Tactics character will be level 6-10 in the RPG.

The Ent

Quote from: vytzka;673406As I like to describe it, it's sort of like Rolemaster if ICE crew was into Final Fantasy at the time of developing it in instead of Tolkien.

Yeah, that'd be my view too. Wich I btw think is kinda cool.

Anima seems more complicated though - compared to classic/1e-2e Rolemaster anyway, allthough possibly not worse than later versions of Rolemaster. And as others have said the complicated stuff doesn't really add anything.

Beautyful books though.

If someone is curious about trying it out I could run a demo adventure on roll20 or skype (not PbP though, it's way too slow for me).

Adammar

I would be interested in a Roll20 demo. The game looks interesting and the crunch doesn't bother me (too much).

Thanks, Adammar, I'll keep it in mind. Any other takers? Evans?

RPGPundit

Never did the RPG, but oddly enough I have played the card game (I almost never play CCGs).

Yeah, sorry, lost track of this thread, forgot about it. But I would be interested in seeing that, just to know how crunchy the game is in actual play.
