This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm going to throw out non-D&D adventures. Check out http://www.darkcitygames.com. They offer programmed adventures for their Legend of the Ancient World system (LAW). LAW is a TFT compatible system and programmed adventures may be used either solo or with a GM. Sewers of Red Point is a good adventure as is Little Black Book. They offer a free adventure called Orcs of High Mountain which you may review to see if it meets your requirements. You will have to convert all TFT stats to D&D. May or may not be your cup of tea.

Have you decided on C&C or Basic (B/X, Labrynth Lord)?

Thanks for the links.  Downloaded and will check out.

Not really.  It's not as simple as deciding on the game, the complication is selling my group on it.  It won't be LL, simply because I would always play Basic D&D instead. My interest in LL is simply for creating and buying "legal" basic D&D stuff.  That makes the choice Basic D&D or C&C.

My group is primarily D&D 3.5 and very happy with it.  I love playing the game, but as a GM I want something I feel more comfortable with.  Basic D&D is second nature to me, and I would love to go with that system.  Unfortunately it is a hard sell for those who don't still love it or remember it fondly.  To most people it is simply the "starter" game that they grew out of.  Not everyone can see the sheer beauty of a concise, complete, simple system or the fact that they can really do all the same things as they can with 3.5 with about 1/10th of the complications and stresses (for the GM at least).

C&C is a more viable choice.  The group has had some exposure locally, it is still in print, and it is OGL.  I'm trying the low pressure sale on either or and seeing if a spark of interest for either starts to appear.  If it does I'll fan it.

To be honest it's a bit irritating, seeing as I'm currently running Star Wars and they absolutely love the adventures.  You would think they would recognize it is my GMing abilities that are making the story come to life, not the rules, and just trust me.
