Heh, Elf in Spanish is apparently Elfo.

Back in Spanish class in high school, there was a running joke, every time we didn't know the right word, we'd just take the
English word and add an o to it.

(Also seems to apply to Gnome, Orc, and Mystic)

Seriously?
When the hell did the OGL get a governing board and start passing out "official OGL" seals?

Luckily there's only been the one Troll... Considering where the Thread is... I'm surprised there hasn't been a flood of morons.... Still, worth linking to that thread for the good discussion on the game from some people who know it.

Answers from a Spanish speaker who owns the game.

1: Yup, 1, Level 1.
2: There's two ways to generate Initiative: The regular one (Each side of the conflict rolls 1d6 at the start of each combat turn, higher side goes first, on a tie everyone acts at the same time), and an optional individual one (each player rolls 1d6 + DEX mod).
3: Let's see... Pick Locks 97, Find/Disable traps 95, Pick Pockets 105, Move Silently 95, Climb walls 98, Stealth 90, Listen (1d6) 1-5.
4: It's an optional rule; if you roll a natural 20 the roll is an auto success and you deal double damage. Some creatures are immune to crits.
5: Elves, dwarves and halflings are their own classes, so I'm guessing no.
6: Yes, starting at level 9.
7: Yes and no. Yes, it follows those tiers, but even though the 18-19 tier is the last of the table, it states that is continues getting additional bonuses at the same intervals.
8: Pure setting material.... not much at all. The Eastern March setting chapter in my books is 6 digest sized pages, but 3 of those have half-page illustrations, so more like 4 and a half. It has included two adventures, though, I suppose there's a bit more setting materials there (the adventures section is 25 pages long). I assume there probably is a bit of setting material buried in the classes and the critters sections.

Sacrificial Lamb

I'm actually very interested in this. I normally prefer a separation of class and race....but this looks good enough that I don't really mind. Maybe I'll transport some of this material into my D&D 3.5 game, and create a kind of hybrid. Definitely looking forward to it...

The Box art is just amazing. I especially love the fact that there is continuity to it all. Each cover tells a different story of the same characters.

Red Box

Blue Box

Green Box

Black Box

Mad props to the East Mark guys for going with dice and a white crayon :) Good to see some good talent on board on editing too.

BloodyCactus

looks good, but I do wonder if we might not get the other translated blue/green boxes later on... that would suck. the campaign setting looks interesting based on the map.

The Red Box is a complete rule system as it stands, unlike either Moldvay or Mentzer D&D, so even if it was the only release it would be just fine IMO.

On saying that, their intention is to do the others, subject as with any RPG to commercial viability.

If this funds, then they plan to do each of the other Box Sets as a separate Kickstarter for each set. Which, I'm completely happy with. I'd never be able to afford $240+ in one Kickstarter (I have spent more, but it broke me lol), splitting it into multiple Kickstarts is a good plan IMHO.

For this Red Box, they waited until they were more than 70% of the way done with Translation before they started the Kickstarter. They haven't even started work translating the other Sets, and those have much larger word counts. We wont be seeing the fulfillment until March/April of next year. If they do the Kickstarter for the Blue Box sometime afterward, we probably wont see fulfillment until late 2014 or early 2015.

Either way, I am excited  by the prospect of having a new, really cool game in a box. It doesn't bother me it might be a multi-year project, it'll allow me to afford it.

I found this piece of artwork. Don't know where it belongs in the product line, but it seems to be a continuation of the Box Art Covers.

We have our Warrior and the Redhead, along with the Iconic Cleric. I still cant figure out what class the Redhead is supposed to be. Its amazing how intriguing the story being told by these covers is.

Samurai maybe? While not something you'd expect from a red-head, she's got a curved two-handed sword like on the character sheet for the Samurai, and her armor looks vaguely samurai-ish

Mistwell

I can't get over how good the art is with these products.  5e should be hiring these artists!

Some more of the art is posted here.
