This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Broken-Serenity;524649I reckon they'll end up switching the release to a Gencon Exclusive at this rate since that'd keep shipping costs down and allow them to get accurate sales data by selling copies directly to the customer.
Judging by the way the Vampire player base reacted to the Grand Masquerade release of V20 (which is to say, pretty badly, which had to be managed afterwards), it would be commercial and PR suicide to attempt such a thing.

Booyah!

And then comes 5e where each person at the table will individually and simultaneously experience the nostalgia of their favorite edition.

Celestia Antiqua is my favorite.

Well this is a bummer.  I was actually thinking about getting these this term.

Quote from: Thalaba;524656They probably realized it's going to take them a while to come up with 12 politically correct names for harlots.

I don't think all of these may be PC but here's a start for them ...

Hustler, slattern, floozy, demimodaine, comfort woman, ianfu, beggar, vagabond, strumpet, streetwalker, trollop, moll, tramp, drab, bawd, cocette, cyprian, fancy woman, lady of pleasure, sporting lady, tart, whore, working girl, call girl, camp follower, hooker, bimbo, professional.

You could add courtesean and it's derivatives easily also. Say like odalisque, dejoie, paramour, hetaera, fille, mistress, hierodule.:D

I'm a woman.:D.

Seriously Courteseans make an awesome class to roleplay in the right games or systems. I love 1e just for the fact that it acknowledged that they and the world they deal with exists just like the real world. It's really is that kind of realism, politically correct or not, that I miss from Dnd and other modern incarnatins of rpg's.  Unless I go the White Wolf etal, route (storygames for the win, yay).:(

Even though I'm a rabid Mage the Awakening fangirl that kind of stuff doesn't mix with the Dnd I love and envision.

Unless you obsess with the shitty GMing advice, WW games are perfectly regular RPGs.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

You forgot professional, as in she is a professional. And not in the suit wearing type either, unless you mean birthday suit.

I phrased it that way to avoid the shitstorm, you did read the rest of my post yes? I am a rabid MtAw fan, rabid to a level that may scare you.  I have author signed books in my WW collection.  It's just that that kind of gaming has no place in my version of Dnd.:)

I love that Bawd, hustler, and vangabond among other terms originated from the term Harlot and all that it means in every definition. Meaning it makes for a great roleplaying class if you can get past the bigotry attached to the term and profession.

Sorry if my phrasing came out as aggressive or inflammatory because I meant the opposite. I was just pointing that applyingtelabel storygame to WoD games seems wrong to me, IMO.

That'd be a great idea. Then they could be even more confident us filthy Europeans wouldn't dare to get our grubby hands on it.
