This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What did you acquire at GenCon?

It was a pretty small haul overall. I had to spend most of my con budget just getting there. Totally worth it, but my con budget isn't that large to begin with so . . . yeah.

I saw a bunch of stuff mentioned above. Like I saw Shard. It looks and sounds interesting(neat fantasy world with a semi-plausible sci-fi background that explains where all the anthropomorphic animal people come from), but I have the same trepidation with it that I have with Ironclaw. As an '80s/'90s kid, I grew up with and liked Ninja Turtles, so a game that's like an expanded version of that really intrigues me. But even if the games like Shard or Ironclaw are good, I'm just afraid I'll end up never getting to play with anyone but furries -- you know, those guys who don't just like Ninja Turtles; they really, really like Ninja Turtles.

Oh, and the Anima Gaia book -- how is it? I thought the system was interesting, but the setting as presented in the corebook really didn't grab me. Does the setting book add stuff that might change that impression, or do you pretty much have to already like the setting to care about the additional info?

I got lots of dice. Koplow dice. Gamescience dice. Chessex dice.

Several Reaper miniatures. I've already painted most of them.. I also did two Paint-n-take and got Lance and laser old fashioned miniatures both times.

A board game called duck-duck-go. Which we like.

a little dragon monster guy that my girlfriend wanted. T-shirts and hats for our kids. Uhm. I think that's it!

Starblazer Adventures + Screen (looks fantastic)
The 4e Dark Sun books (they threw in a nice carrying bag)
Eureka: 501 Adventure Plots (is awesome)
4e PHB III (Could not believe that WotC didn't have this)
A bunch of Paizo flip mats (so very cool)
A CD with 101 one-page dungeons that I can print out.
Two new sets of dice for my spouse.
Two new sets of dice for myself. (like I need them LOL)
My first set of game science dice. We'll see how they roll.

I somehow avoided buying Dr. Who ATS, 4e L5R (so very pretty), and DC Adventures (another gorgeous tome).

Edit: I somehow forgot that I managed to buy the last available GenCon copy of Zombie Dice!

I forgot to mention my dice purchases!

I got a whole bunch of varicolored dice to show an artist what different types of some metals in our gameworlds would look like.

I also got some nifty (and expensive!) Steampunk dice.
