Hey folks,

I wanted to show off some of my recent artwork and perhaps convince some of the publishers here to drop me a line so we can work together. I'm also open to general feedback and thoughts on my work- as i know you all have opinions.

Very nice work!  I've been making a list of people to consider contacting about artwork for my new game, so this is good timing. :)

Drop me a line anytime Stuart, and if you are looking for multiple artists, head over to Empty Room Studios (//www.emptyroomstudios.com). I manage a great bunch of guys over there and can set you up with some real talent with a lot less hassle then dealing with tons of freelancers.

Dr Rotwang! - I take that as the highest compliment.:D

Rick,

I can see a definite maturation of style and technique across your work. Overall I'd have to rate the kappa the best of your samples; it shows a sophistication in rendition and an animation I don't often see in monster art in RPGs.

It's also nice to see art that isn't a bad homage to manga and anime. :)

Thank you Sir, much appreciated.

I'm totally swiping this one.  This is one of those pics where my first thought is "Man, I'd love to hold the book up for my players and tell them this thing was coming at them."

I love how the bikini is clearly made using medieval materials and construction techniques!

I've worked with Neal at Dark Quest Games several times now, he provides the best art briefs ever, real open and simple with jsut enough to get the mind going. It was pretty much just a humanoid figure made of bones and skulls. . . that's what came out. I made this by laying down a general form in all black, then painted in the white for the bones.

The Broken Mantle is this webcomic I do for //www.baegtobar.com once per week (Jeremy Mohler runs it, he's my studio Art director)anyway, Saori is this jungle girl in the story and when i originally drew her i made her kind of dumpy and more realistic to what a jungle girl would look like. . . then I realized that wasn't really interesting. So, now i pretty much always draw her sexy and wearing leather bikini outfits.

Thanks man, and thanks for the great review you did on SM, I never got a chance to thank you for that, but it was much appreciated. Hopefully, if and when we do a second printing, Brett will let me replace some of the art I personally don't think fits the best.

Hey, it was my pleasure.  And I'd be really interested to see what else you come up with for SM given the chance.

BTW, you worked with Alana Abbott on that, didn't you?  Now there's a lady with some talent!  I really enjoyed her first novel (horrid editing aside, it was a fun RPG fiction read).

Well we got a lot planned. Alana and i are working on a creature book and then we have several writers doing city/region guides that are basically all setting material and lite on the mechanics. We also got an equipment book planned we are doing like an old catalogue. Anyway, you might just get some copies of those. . .

Alana is a talented girl, she does tons of stuff to help out my studio and constantly has great ideas for SM. I believe the novel she did is a trilogy, so look for the other books. . . I have yet to get a chance to read it. She does a lot of stuff to be honest, I'm not sure all the game cred she has, but she is always busy.

Wolvorine

That's some pretty good looking work you're putting out there, Rick.

And I'll back that up with a big Hells Yeah, Neal's great to work with.  I kind of miss working with him, actually.  I've had a little free time, I may have to drop him a line and see if he wants to throw some work at me.  Been a few years now.  It's nice to see he's still finding good artists for the DQ products.
