Understandable. It doesn't have to be. It's really another facet of the hobby. Some gamers love to paint minis, put together packs of pieces of plasters to construct buildings and scenery, etc. That's why I talked about it as a "hobby apart of the hobby". I love doing this kind of stuff myself. Always did. :)

I do, though, appreciate minis as portraits.  I don't think very visually, so I like 3-D representations of characters even if I don't plan to use them in a game.
