This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I could only assume they'd have to verify somebody's project if they didn't want Kickstarter to get suckered every other offer.

Quote from: The Butcher;791229Benoist told me over Facebook that a buddy of his apparently got a hold of the person behind the Kickstarter and...

...it's an actual 15-year-old kid.

Unlikely as it sounds, I kind of hope it's true. But it's a win-win situation, really, since this thing's just as brilliant whether it's satirical or sincere.

That's hilarious and sad at the same time if true because I'd love to see it become a real published game.

According to a number of RPGnet posters, there is a manuscript for this game. So, it seems highly likely to be actually published.

The thing with joke KS like this and the potato salad one is that they are actually easy to fulfil and give most of their reward very the entertainment they create.

The mock-up cover is amaze:

Comedy is harder than it looks.  It's a lot easier to heckle from the peanut gallery, than it is to get up on stage and risk being heckled, when it comes to comedy.

Haffrung

It's a pointed and astute piss-take of the absurdity of so much of kickstarter and RPG culture. The fact it could pass as a non-parody is what makes it hilarious.

I think it went just a little too far into the absurd to "pass as a non-parody".
