SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

That could well be the answer.

QuoteDoes this make theRPGsite in some even weirder way also an ENWorld affiliate?
That's the way I've always seen it. Well not as an ENWorld 'affiliate'. Since Nutkinland was really a bunch of people that formed a separate board to blow off steam when the steam-blowing they did for their Angrychair days become too much for the size of ENWorld to contain.  So theRPGsite's history is more a relief-valve, first for ENWorld and then RPG.net. Except now it is run by someone for whom it isn't a relief valve at all but a necessity as his only messageboard outlet because he sits in the Angrychair 24/7 and isn't really about "non-bullshit" at all.

But he does like dressing men as pretty, pretty girls. Does that count for anything?

The magnitude of what it counts for is ENORMOUS!

Yes it is.

At least, that's the word on the street.

Ok. I don't live on the street, nor game there, so that's fine.

That's a pretty ridiculous statement.  For starters, my voice was already being heard all over the place thanks to my Blog, one of the most successful gaming blogs out there.
Secondly, I was a regular poster at the Wizards, Animalball and GURPS forums as well as several other places.  The number of gaming fora I post in vastly outnumbered the number of gaming fora I was banned from (which were precisely 3).

Finally, if you knew the real history of what went down here, I strongly resisted the suggestion that I run my own internet forum, until Pooka's challenge basically left me no other option.  I didn't go desperately looking for this job, it was thrust upon me.

Not that I'm not glad I did it, though it has taken up a huge section of my time and basically reduced my participation on any of those other fora to nil.
