This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

True.  Can't imagine how many people that lost their jobs over that one.

Sad. I recall seeing a "sorta" demo - basically just a couple of character models is a painted up character creator UI. That's really the only reason why CCP got WW.

It wouldn't surprise me if WW gets shopped to someone else. CCP has got to be feeling their loss in investment dollars.

You know I would not be surprise if world of darkness does get sold off.

If that happened (not likely according to Onyx Path) don't let Hasbro acquire it.

Well given my trust with CCP is on a whole new low and Onyx Path would cover any thing bad that is going on in the world of darkness...  Lets just say I really don't trust it and if Onyx is really wise they start making their own IP right now.

I had forgotten this was even a thing...

They already did. They own Scion and Trinity outright.

Yet right now they are only focusing on world of darkness books.  If I was them I would start making some changes to the schedule.

Sommerjon

Why would they?
WoD fans are throwing money at them as is, why try and make something out of Scion and Trinity?

Because they own them and half of Exalted also. In the case of Scion and Trinity they even have a different base 10 game engine they're going to introduce. They couldn't do that with the WoD because CCP owns the IP but are satisfied with the current arraignment with Onyx Path.

Wait...the WOD type mechanics might actually be replaced with something coherent?

I love the settings, but the mechanics give me an ulcer.

It's great that they own them.  However, big deal WoD sells better.
They have the luxury of working[slowly] on their IP while making money off of WoD.

Hope so.

Till CCP decides to end that one day.  CCP is not known for its wise business moves lately.
