This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'd have no problem tossing a Sister of Battle into a Deathwatch team. She's be a bit underpowered compared to the major chapter marines, but considering the crossover between Xenos and heretical cults, she's be useful for investigations.

The Custodes jet bikes look awesome! I also like melee armies (thus Tyranids) and Custodes make a good choice for that. I used to play a very melee oriented demon army (back when you could do field only demons).

TBH it was my first time GM-ing anything and i had no idea what the sister stats looked like. I do like the sisters, and when i started u wanted to try them too (but the models are expensive and hideous, and now i dont like the revamoed acts of faith system they previewed.)

I also remember watching a battle report when custodes first came out where some allarus custodes took like 100 or so attacks from a genestealer cult army without losing a model and then slapped them to death with their axes. Another freind of mine also did an "If the Emperor Had a Text to Speech device"  game using Maid RPG of all things. I was at work so i didnt play...but apparently it worked pretty well.

Also note that some of the prominent Assassin characters are female. The one in the comics was and I believe the one in the bard game is too. Callidus was I believe the group she was from? Its been 2 decades.

Yeah callidus assasains are mostly female cause poly morphine works better on women (and they're pretty cool.) Statting them would be weird though. But there are also female eversor assassins, which tend to slice through  SM, but eversor can only fight, roleplay is impossible.

Yeah I went down the 40K hole I guess.  Between gifts and gift cards and gift money, I now have the Dark Imperium box set, Blackstone Fortress, Kill Team Rogue Trader, Kill Team core rules, Kill Team Commanders to add to the Dark Vengeance set I got a few years ago and some Tyrannids.    Now to get my game group to at least play some kill team. But just in case, I am going to a WH40k Game group meeting tomorrow.  I look forward to seeing and maybe playing a bit.

In a Deathwatch campaign there's one predominant role that Imperial females can fill without any retcon shenanigans...

The Inquisitor, one of the highest ranking, most powerful characters that exist.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery's thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

Good point. No reason you couldn't have a female Inquisitor. There are a few mentioned in Dark Heresy 1e. Didn't buy 2e so can't comment there.

But I'm actually surprised Sisters of Battle aren't assigned to Deathwatch teams.

In lore, that which the Deathwatch Kill Teams go up against tend to slaughter... juuuuust about everything that's not a completely transhuman nightmare.

Now, in the Deathwatch RPG, a Sister can actually hold up decently well (if she's brought up to the 10 or 13K experience, whatever the start is for Deathwatch, she can actually end up being a bit stronger overall).

If she has a certain cloak she would gain unnatural toughness x2.  In short becoming as tough as a space marine.  I think it is in Blood and Martyers supplement of Dark Heresy 2.0.
