This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Indeed it is, last year I started writing about it, I tried to think on a system that resembles the mechanics of the pc game,(the rpg version not the strategy one), eventually it got stuck, I'm planning on getting back to it whenever I get a break from school.

Quote from: Alukrdmmm... probably i would like to play the Final Fantasy sagas...

as their pretty much easy to transform into an pen and paper RPG...
Also these games have a history that's so rich and deep that i belive that them could turn into great adventures to play with friends each one impersonating a different job (from Dragoon to Blue Mage)
Check out //www.returnergames.com.  It's been worked on by a group of fans for years, but the system is playable and decent (not great, but decent).

My pick would be for Fallout.  Great game and setting.

Crimson Skies.  But it'd have to be more then a pulp game with Planes in it or a Plane based game with some role playing.  The trick is to encompas the game as a whole turn the entire thing into a setting and make all of it work well together.

I'm imagining a medium weighted rules game.  The air combat to really accomplish the aerial acrobatics in CS would have to be some what abstract and not tied down to a map.  You'd need crazy ass maneouvers to pull off much like the feats in D20 to make plane combat fun.  Infact the planes really should just feel like extensions of the players yet be as much of an individual identity as the character himself.

If you read my comments on the Space Combat message this is where my ship to ship combat concept originated from.

Crimson Skies was already made if I remember correctly. at least into a board game or CMG.

Yeah there was a board game by FASA and WizKids put out one - but they are board games not RGP's.

Good one, but actually Arcanum though  released by Sierra, it was developed by Troika a little studio that only made three games before it was shut down, Arcanum was the First, Vampire The Mascarade Bloodlines was the second, and finally The Temple of Elemental Evil was the last one, the three of them were quite good, but none of them was outstanding.

Shadows Over Mystara

I seem to recall there was a product tie-in in there somewhere... :D

Just running across some screenshots of this classic, classic game has given me all sorts of RC D&D shivers.  Makes me want to put WFRP on the backburner (and hell, it's already there until I find players) and set up a six-man dungeon crawl team.

I'm tempted to use video game death rules, tho, to keep the party intact through the game.  How classic is that, not even ten seconds of D&D gametime and I'm houseruling. :D

What fun...

Savage Worlds homebrew versions of both of those right there. Waiting for someone to do d20 version of the latter.

Quote from: KrakaJakI don't actually think [...] Fallout would make good official tabletop RPG material. They're made to be videogame RPG's and I don't think they would translate well. It comes down to the fact I would rather play the videogame than play the tabletop game.

You are mistaken, sir. It was my understanding that the Fallout system was originally designed for tabletop by Mistuh Gygax and then turned into a videogame by Interplay. I could, however, be mistaken.

I think you're mistaken.  Fallout was originally supposed to be the first CRPG based on GURPS, but that deal fell through.  It still uses a system similar in many regards to GURPS 2E, however.

Abe's Odysee, or something like it. Probably more of the latter and less of the former.
